~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He didn’t allow the world
To distract his sense of being
Diffuse his goals or stifle his dreams
Every government, religion and political stance
Made him want to get up and dance
Away
Far away
Across the ballroom floor
Where only lovers slept
(Their dreams aroused and awoken)
He’d beaten the ad nauseam stream
Of beliefs, controls and extremisms
Opening his thoughts across the heavens
Where breath was evolving
Never convinced
Every mystery had an answer or reason
This was his transportal treason
To surf where the waves were no more
Where the sun
Would look deep into the night
Smiling through bodies no one recognized
This too is one that has touched the spirit within me. Interesting note: tonight I read an article that John Lennon also believed the answer to peace is no boarders...........It is amazing to me that this is hard for most to visalize......... I could write but I am in no man's land at the moment :-) Wonderful having a chance to read you again :-)
I think we used to call it Rocking the establishment :):)
Every Man woman and child in this world has the right to remain focussed on his/her goals, dreams, faith, and no one has the right to interfere.
Otherwise life is no long freedom of choice.
Great write, Jude, Ty.
A beautiful poem depicting, to me, the strength and intrepid vision for one to remain undaunted in their goals to see the good, and the nourishing, despite the steady stream of distractions and inane ideologies.
To make ones path through the wasteland of what was seems extreme, but I believe it would allow for the exploration and discovery of many gems left unfound in the first go-a-round.
Excellent thoughts ...
An appealingly lucid vision of very empowering TRANSPORTAL TREASON. We should all be so lucky as to rise to such liberated heights.
A brilliant look at a man who doesn't belong where he is , knows where he wants to be, but can't get there yet.He will in due time
In the meantime he dances away from a world that refuses to become civilized...
Jude
You have a deep rooted belief and yearning for that Utopian ideal, which is a good and healthy outlook..
Now you know why I like to sojourn on Mars every now and then..
You won't find or get it here...;)
If I didn't know for sure I would say that this is a mirror image of what the writer (Jude) sees in himself for it is certainly as I reread it what I see in the work of the authour. Robert your work always goes above and beyond the ordinary and defiantely does not stay inside the box...which always make it interesting to read. This is no exception.
You certainly have a knack of gettin me to log on when I otherwise had no intention of yet doing so!! :)) What a title - one to die for, conjuring a great sense of Forese paradox, being both archaic and futuristic, it seems to me. And what tone of conquest and venture is here. Wings are unfurling for heavenwards flight - but not to a heaven as yet envisioned by the minds of men and is one free of every earthbound -ism, -iology and -ics! I find your couplet "Never convinced Every mystery had an answer or reason" - ummm, mysterious and ambiguous - but makes so much sense: why SHOULD mysteries ever be able to be solved or have a tangible evidential reason for existance?!! But of course... makes so much sense. And the final five lines are totally knock-out; to "surf where the waves were no more" is to exist outside of the known universe, it seems to me, since some form of ripples or waves are ever present in this created cosmos. And I totally ADORE the idea of the sun and moon face to face, beaming at each other together in shared space that enlightens the life of all others simultaneously, bringing balance and harmony - now THAT would be some sort of heaven! Have been listening to Tom Petty every evening this week and just last night picked out a phrase of his: "the dark of the sun", QED made me think "the light of the moon". One of your best, Jude - abounding with mysticism and yet totally grounded; elevating and inspiring. Esoteric and yet accessible. Makes me think of the wonders of trigonometry, where the extended line of the hypothenuse is taken out, beyond the geometric figure and brought back in again to affect the correct angle. This write bounces, reflects and refracts... And see what you get after a night on champagne! :)) One for the proclamatory tones of your voice and no mistake. I came across a recorded version of Slowly Spreading Across The Page the other day and this reminds me a little of it. And now I am TOTALLY awake!! TY LOL Kate xx
Transportal Treason is a necessary part of growth. It is like if you catch hold of a fish in the sea and you throw it on the shore; the fish jumps back into the sea. Now for the first time it will know that it has always lived in the sea; for the first time it will know that "The sea is my life." Up to now, before it was caught and thrown on the shore, it may not have ever thought of the sea at all; it may have been utterly oblivious of the sea. To know something, first you have to lose it.
There are three kinds of people. One, who are so deeply satisfied with themselves that they sing glories of the virtues of contentment and they stop growing; two, who are so discontented that they see no point doing anything and three, who are so obsessed with speedy results that their impatience consumes them.
Each one of us should strive to make a good habit of returning to evaluate our day’s actions and performance and to refuel ourselves every night with discontentment over the gap that still exists between ‘what is’ and ‘what should be’, and with commitment to go the extra mile to bridge the gap between the two, every next morning.
