Friday I was blown away by the variety and beauty of the geological inner earth at the Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately deBeers and others only give gold and diamonds any real value.

When I look into rock pools and see the little self containded worlds of beauty, somehow it is very grounding. And the days I spent there with my son, seeing his wide eyes and excitement.
I agree with Eileen . . . the last line was the slam dunk.
I have always contended, well, at least since I've been able too, that it is our misuse of free will, and our inalienable freedoms, that pit us against each other and our fragile environment.
Too many gods Robert ... not enough Truth.
The image of many rivulets running across the sand into the same source was almost visionary to how humanity should be spiritually. Different, unique, on individual paths, but always running back to the one true source.
Ever wonder what the oceans are as an image spiritually?

The vibrations of your thoughts are in sync with my own.
Could the rainbow possibly be as beautiful as it is if it were only one colour? Would the gift of music be as wonderful as it is if there were only one note to be played? Would Life be quite as amazing as it is if we had only one sense, instead of five, to enjoy it with? The answer to these questions is so simple and makes so much sense that it truly boggles my mind that humanity, as a whole, seems to have no comprehension of what the senses reveal at all.
Diversity is to be embraced and celebrated while varying perspectives should be sought like a treasure!

Never fear, Jude. Mankind's Mirror will soon be pieced together and become whole once more...and not due to any "variations" of those politicians whose promises never fail to fail.
This is by far your best write to daye Jude. Your message is clear and concise and unarguable. As the world situation and especially the situation in Israel and Lebanon unfold this message needs to be driven home by all of us who are not indifferent before we like the pre-World War II turn away and let this continue.

"So many small tributaries / All leading to a bigger source"
This one passage clouded my mind to the rest of the poem, as I saw all thhese "radical Islam" tributaries leanding to the bigger source. As far as the respect for diversity? I am of the mind that American AND the world as a whole, pay way too much attention to "diversity" and not nearly enought to the common man.
Ah Jude, as always you give us much to think about, and in such a powerful and deep poem, if only this could be, what a wonderful world this could be. Love your thoughts here,

and i thought i was a visionary, Alex ... first, we respect our diversity then work on the property, money and boundaries ... that is the logical approach ...

For the scriptual recorders, the concept of religious time is so elastic and frayed that history strains credulity. In the Bible, Leviticus and Deuteronomy portrays the Canaanites as idol worshipers who held human sacrifices, engaged in deviant sex, and practices seen as a threat to monotheism, but NEITHER archaeology nor Canaanite texts support this description in the bible. Mankind's mirror has been broken for centuries. Good news is a rabbi introduces a new idea into history that I rather like---"What happens to Jews emanates from a Divine promise foretold about the future, rather than by events impelling from the past. Jewish history is pulled like by a magnet, toward a glorious destiny." What is that destiny? The messianic redemption of the entire universe! What's interesting to me is that repairing fractured spiritual legacy will demand an extreme act of faith from Palestinians and Israelis, whose common heritage is now a matter of scientific proof, where the DNA of male Jews and Middle Eastern Arabs, among them Syrians, Palestinians, and Lebanese shows that they share a common set of ancestors. Perhaps scientific proof will bring ancestors that didn't know they were related, to the highest religious and familial level and war will end on a peaceful note through the Hymn To The Blessing of Abraham,

Well, with regards Peter's Mayan calendar I dont know about that date, but supposedly 6/6/06 was also a date that could go down in infamy...but we are still here...I think that anyone can make a prediction using any date, but we just have to wait and see...why worry? Your last line screams to me, with a smashed heart. The whole poem screams for justice in an unjust world! such magnificent thoughts Jude, of how it could be , if only the diversity was allowed to exist for all humanity, not just what some consider right but ALL!Thankls for adding your eloquent and meaningful voice!
