To have a mind of clarity so as to be able to think in a unique way.
One just needs to wipe away all disturbing and alien minds, ignore diatribes, thus ones mind is at perfect peace, with an unfettered mind.
Rather than cluttered and vile minds which see only the superficial and the shallow surface, and never have their own thoughts but live a parrots life.
I again am awed by the depth of this piece so simply stated. Once again I bow to your pen Master Poet,and Writer. Peace, blessings and gratitude for sharing. <Mikii>
Agreeing to disagree is a very good concept and it changed my life when I heard it years ago. I cannot push my beliefs and ideas on anyone. Both sides can be worldly smart. The issues are what we need to agree to disagree on. Very good write, Jude. You got down to the nitty gritty.

The roads less traveled are usually the very best, and usually the most informative, if we only have the tenacity and the open mindness to journey down them.
Just to be able to jump the universe and navigate the whims of others and peer deep within the souls of people we see....you have the talent to do this in verse and...as a person.

Well-written poetry, a little deep for me this early a.m.
Aaaah yeees.... and to be pitied, perhaps, is the poor fool who calls you stupid??!! :)) Over here, commerce is only just beginning to wake up to the fact that the measure of personhood is not solely to be based on IQ... but on EQ and SQ too, at least. Hoorah for the recognition at long last that emotional and spiritual intelligence are also worthy measures of what you appear to be speaking of here, in your definition of the totality of "smart". AND of what it means to be fully alive: alert to the WHOLE of life experience to be had and interacting with it. Just for a change, these sorts of ideas seem to press my buttons, turn on my lights and make me feel generally bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. And it is soooooo odd that, in connection with the issues you tackled in yesterday's poem, it is the creative diversity that is like the steel sharpening steel, init? How blunt and dull we can remain by restricting our selves to a monoform interpretation and expectation of life. In fact, it is my sad experience that it is often those we are seemingly close-shackled to (by actuality, shared beliefs, goals or environments) that can be like the poison in our brain, and it can be as if that by just even sharing the same space we are stealing each other's air and ability to breathe. But companionable divergence can indeed be liberating, energising and a means of personal/corporate growth. I find myself stumbling over the emphasised linkage: "but instead be found... found but accepting all is lost"... seems to me the hidden vortex within what it otherwise a complete updraught and most elevating/inspiring of writes. Intelligence and wisdom are often defined as being smart but I have known and met people in all walks of life and found that as you suggest in this poem...smart is a matter of interpretation of the person you are looking at.
Not being really smart myself, I still find this to be as always from you Bob, a landmark poem...you may not weave a tale but instead you speak from a knowledge of humanity that few can boast of...Ed
Restricting knowledge from one's mindset just to satisfy others' insecurities keeps us C students! Meet your brain, why be a C student! Get above your raisin, be educated, be the one to lead, and most of all, be diverse in your depth of character. Narrow-mindedness is mismanagement of the blueprint of our design and stagnates inner growth. Intelligent quotient is the essence of our Light within, that soft voice of inner awareness that connects us to all there is. When we are in touch with it, we do not have to prove anything to anyone, nor get anyone's permission or approval to pursue our goals. There are two kinds of people, the mowers of lawns and well-poisoners. Why should we become victimized for putting "too much energy" into our goals and being smart? The depth in this poem surfaces your depth of character, Jude...why you are our lead poet...I think I said that many months ago in the poem I wrote, We Built This City...limestone poets and sandstone novelists...
