~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cloaked in blood-stained clothing
Body parts
Are strewn across arenas of historical conflict
Where fragments of persona
Expose the gore of guts
Around a garden of geraniums
A lifeless legacy
Is scattered across highways,
Playgrounds and malls
Where appendages and limbs
Dangle from lampposts
Like a surreal necrotic nightmare
As shocked corpuscles
Seep across broken pavements
Becoming red rivers of shattered skulls
Detonating dying moans
In the explosive residue
Of wounded wails
A landscape of utter disbelief
Screams in madness
As surviving voices gripped by fear
Are put under by the everyday horror
Terror again expressing its blackened heart
It makes one shake thier head as they feel the blunt of what you are sharing. My stomach felt very uneasy after reading this the first time. No war experiences within this lifetime ...just reading like everyone else....but going by the way my gut feels when I read such descriptions, I have experienced it within another life time. I pray we all learn how to leave this experience behind with the lesson that will move us forward into the universe.
This is realism at it's most frightening, war painted in words that all can understand, man's inhumanity to man that hasn't been expressed as well since Heart of Darkness. Jude you open the doors to truth.
BLACKENED HEART paints a grisly truth with all the colors of pain and horror even while the beauty of compassion bleeds through every syllable. A totally masterful and totally relevant write--
You have caught a glimpse, I believe, of what Ezekiel 38 and 39 speaks about. it may be looming on the near horizon!
This was graphically written and gripped the senses in the bony fingers of a black-hooded sadist.
Without you knowing it Jude, you have given me the go-ahead to complete something that I have let sit, because there was the necessity to describe gore in one of the scenes. Thankyou!
You seem to be a trendsetter here, and I respect that.
Excellent and creepy write from the quill of a skilled wordsmith!
You epitomise the madness that is stalking our streets in every shape and form
It is not only war and aggression that is taking its toll on our souls, but the daily onslaught of media and commercial brainwashing, that is corrupting the hearts of our younger generation.
Jude,
If it were that these could be only the dark visions of the wordsmith. This carnage has become the reality for so many. Maybe the eloquent can wring reason back to the blackened hearts of those bent on destruction...
We can only write...and hope.
Peace and understanding,
Black-hearted is the word for the absolute and pure and unqualified hate that is in the minds and hearts of biblical-influenced aggression, to which the normal person find it very hard to understand. But we are going to have to understand it to destroy it. Understanding it is not the same as capitulating, but coming to terms with what it really is the black hearts are truly after. When you boil it down to this, it is like simmering tea leafs in an open container, after most of the moisture has been reduced, you are able to see the tea leaves and rid the pot of them.
When you decide to go gory, no one can do it better! If this doesn't shiver the synapses nothing will. Terror whether war or other is diabolical! A real nightmare write, Jude!
A blimp of a write...not only war blackens the heart...the zepplin Hindenburg on the evening of May 6, 1937, the news of the massive explosion of the German airship Hindenburg rocked the world. 36 people died as the craft hovered at its arrival at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. This disaster foreshadowed the end of the commercial rigid airship, and the end of an era that blackened many hearts across the globe...
Each word in each line captures this disaster, Jude, as war and 911 are not the only life-takers and monsters blowing out human guts...
Terror is black and leaves black as a canvas of grief gone bad. I'm in awe of your pen. You see with words so much better than most see with their eyes.
