As if the wrath of god
Would descend upon me
Refusing to lift me
Through the heavens,
Of this myopic and awkward world
You parade the glitter of righteousness
Before me
Like a peacock in full bloom,
Full with the spectrum of benevolence,
Revealing the quintessence of your true colors
Suddenly, all the daring dreams
You ever explained
Slide into the sea of my afterthoughts
Like sandcastles
Not built by the hands of man
But conceived by his dictates,
Crumble in waves of indifferent cold
And I am forced to reconsider
The words scripted in your revelations
And wonder if there is any relevance
To embrace the sandy spectrum
Of your vibrations
After all, you will never mull over
The possibilities beyond the scope of tides
"Like loud and proud peacock
tail high in the air,
we might look quite different
viewed from derriere!
Kept just out of view,
sad truth you will find:
Forget what's in front
and look straight behind!
... Sorry!! :)) Couldn't resist! The overall finish and sheen of a tapestry very much depends on the tautness of each individual stitch which, inspecting the work from the reverse angle, is so easy to judge. Yep, so true... a false light is unable to fool too many for too long - like the unearthly glow of the tittle-tattle of a computer screen as compared to the brilliant veracity of the sun. Those who wield a bludgeon of judgement and punishment seem to have something to prove, it seems to me; whereas grace and love are their own true witnesses and best ambassadors, and attract by instilling confidence, rather than repel through fear. Keep to the open seas and cast out into deep water, Kartero... which leads me into your next pome wonderfully... K xx

I am always amazed by your writing but find it so hard to express how it touches me, but mark my word; it always touches me!.......and unfortuntly often leaves me speechless! Not many can do that to me LOL.
a strong indictment of someone who sounds from the poem to be completely self-absorbed. they are who they are. you see what you see. you don't know what you don't know. they can't give what they don't have. whether it's goodbye and go on or some other choice, it's a good poem you've penned. life always teaches, Dawn
I have always contended, Jude, that is a lot easier to see anomalies and inconsistencies in those around us than it is to see the good. One has to dig deeper to find the good. Very seldom does the gold fall on the ground in front of us.
I believe that as long as we can excercise imagination, and dream, we will continue searching for that utopia, and those idealisms that help bring our own views into a more palatable light.
Being strickly observant of morality has no glitter whatsoever adorning it. It is a choice! And I contend that if one places themselves in a box of morality and belief, is there any less of the infinite imagination there than without?
Some people spend a lifetime searching for something that is right in front of them, and has been their whole life.
People will always let you down. ALWAYS! It's too easy to superimpose on them what we expect from them, and too easy to be disillusioned when it does not manifest itself.
Intense in it's brutal honesty you have captured the questioning mind of the dreamer. As writers we know we must question and not just walk the mundane line of the average, it is not possible to ignore what we see and cannot accept. Well written with a strong message.
you are a man of many passions, scalding when hot, freezing when cold. You can make the tides reverse if you want to with a poem like this. Such dynamic brilliance, like the stab of an icicle.Fantastic Jude!

Well thought out expressions of anothers presence slipping away.
Feels like one trying to keep candy-floss on a rainy day..
Has a connection to my Coral Eden. In my experience the best way to find a Scope of Tides is to go where they're not supposed to be. This poem has no answer beyond the obvious, stops dead cold in the water, breaking the waves...this one goes out with the tide in good conscience, Jude...
What an elegant way to pen the pain of good-bye. Interesting metaphor, Jude...the fragile sandcastles going with the tides,,,more easily washed away than the pains taken to construct them. It's like you've taken the words to your heart and internalized them when you want to cry outloud to the moon that controls the tides and brings the chill to the relationship. Just beautifully written...

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.

Some people are just not worth the time or energy
That may sound indifferent, but it is true..
Superb, contemplative pen
