We are all such a mixed bag of damaged feelings and emotions, it seems to me. If we know that at certain times of rampant puzzling disquietude within ourselves we ourselves are not to be trusted - even by us!! - then how can we expect others to be without shades of light and dark? Admittedly, wanton and wilfull intent of malice is to be wholesale guarded against with every fibre of our physical, emotional and spiritual resources. But, unless one is practising occult or something, then every negative thought or action on our part has a causal root which it is better to address and recognise than to just gloss over. Even if we feel hurt and wounded by people's unrighteous intentions or actions against us, we can, perhaps, always intuitively recognise the causal factors. If we know even ourselves to be our own best friend and our sole worst enemy, we cannot put higher expectation upon the make-up of another mortal human being. To go through life as wise as serpents and as a gentle as doves is no bad thing. Practising "Safe/Sage Life" is as necessary as practising "Safe Sex" in terms of preventing or spreading unseen and undiagnosed harm! Good protective measures here, Jude, and sage advice. :)) K xx PS Forgot to say that the flow of these rhyming couplets is great... so relaxed and natural that it is easy in this accomplished poetry to lose sight of the fact that we are being administered "medicine".... tis a spoonful of sugar with it! :))

Intuition is by far, the wisest Psychic Umbrella that protects us from the deceptive elements and I will tell you this from my experience with Adult ethics and that is my personal history has been filled with many of these things you mention and if I was the type of personality to blindly conform to an authority whose purpose was to keep me muted, squelched, and dependent on hushing inner growth, I would not be a wholesome part of Authors Den today. The protection, enhancement, and well-being of people and the protection, enhancement, and well-being of the inanimate and animate natural world are fundamentals of which Adult ethics are based. Adult ethics are supportive of human life---supportive of winners. A decision is not ethical if a human is exploited for ulterior purposes, whereas an ethical decision enhances self-respect, develops personal integrity, dissolves unreal barriers between people, and builds a core of genuine confidence in self and in others, as this poem Psychic Umbrella facilitates actualizing the human potential without bringing harm to others, and the value system in Jude's words enhance the relationship with our total psychic environment...

It is a wise person who continually increases their awareness. Lies and deceit are the fare of the times and we need to remain alert if we don't wish to get caught up in it all. Our best defense is to listen to our inner voice and understand that we already know the truth. I have heard it said that "God helps those who help themselves" and I think that truer words were never spoken, as we are each ultimately responsible for our own fate. Excellent message here, Jude.
