the Deleterious Turbulence of Stormy Inertia

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There comes a time
As time has done once again
When disappointment and displeasure
Seem to follow me around
As if I’m flying in a maze of irritated shadows
Lost in a repetitive
Trance of self-indulgence
And like a winded harvest bird
Disrupted from flight
I am brought down
Into the mud
Splashing around
Trying to free myself
And regain composure
From the impetuous reaction of non-reaction
As if the broken wings of theoretical
Flight patterns
Have any semblance of real direction
So what’s the sense in reassuring
The deleterious turbulence of stormy inertia?
Expecting from me what I can never offer
Simply because I’m unsure of what it demands from me
And have given up trying
Perhaps when we ourselves are in a rite of passage or period of transition, we are particularly vulnerable and sensitive to the interference of others or the atmosphere of our immediate micro- and macro-environments which somehow "ruffles our feathers", even though it might just be a tiny disturbance - as little as a single breath on a delicate spider's web. Deconstruction is an essential part of reconstruction and I tend to mind-freeze when I am aware of being in that particular phase... then, like the brittleness of thin ice, I can feel trodden on and cracked very easily. Not sure whether this is making any sense, let alone any impact on the concepts you are conveying here, but my brain is just fluttering about like a swallow in a dusky steeple right now. The only way to stay afloat is to... float and not fight sometimes... like your message in Riptide; then, following on from that, you will know EXACTLY the right time to start swimming like hell to catch The Big Wave and ride the clean surf once again. A write done in pictures, signs and symbols which has had a flick-book effect on my thoughts. Like the electrical air before the heat of the storm this is... or the sigh in the boughs of trees before the impending rains. All sent to water the paddyfields unto harvest. Should be a good one! But wait until your needle points true north... :)) LOL Kaleidoscope Kate xx
clearly, it's something in the cosmic particles of late, Jude. I, too, know precisely of what you speak. what's amazing is that you can compose such a poem for us - maybe that is why you were meant to have the experience? splashing around down here in GA. and it ain't just the rain. Dawn
This one hurts, Jude. Been there, done that, even have the t-shirt. Rise from the mud and try again. :) You and I on the same page, yours, however, is much better. Well done!
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
Best not to try and figure life, its just a vapour after all, just live it, enjoy it as much as you can...Breathe the air while we may..
Sometimes we must all just splash about for awhile, to see where the waves take us next.
Stormy inertia suggests a rebellion against the status quo, yet you feel defeated. I know it can happen. You have a lot to do but can't find the effort. Great imagery. Victor
The eagle may have landed, but it won't stay put too long. It's just stopping for a sip of solace before it soars off to a higher realm with new horizons to explore...
The most rewarding moments in life come when we excel where we never even believed we could fit in; when we stretch out of our comfort zone and push the edges of the envelope. I don't believe that you have really given up trying, more that you are taking a moment to catch your breath, find your center and then take to the skies with a show of grace and power that you never knew that you possessed beyond your wildest of dreams. You are a far cry from a quitter, and you know very well that you possess charms that will take you in any direction you aspire to. Excellent writing, Jude. This comes on a day when my soul is still heavy with thoughts of yesterday and I, also, see the shadows of doubt trying to push in from the edges of the light.
Take care,
Sherry
The spiritual communicator between two worlds consistently appears in Jude Forese poetry...as a Cherokee medicine bundle with four arrows, representing "flight patterns that do have semblance of real direction"...the process of transformation in many of your poems give details of a holy person's dreams and visions, you willing to share, might take nourishment, courage, and direction from your own dreams...there does come a special point in a holy woman/man's life when the dreams call for a lifetime of selfless service, don't give up because disapppointment and displeasure form the shape of the future, transforming turbulence and stormy matter of malicious deeds, jealousy and gossip into what I call the "moccasin telegraph," walking the native talk to the end to rid the conflict of those we do not trust. When you draw a circle in the dirt and see an eagle's face, you will no longer be disrupted from flight...imagine what the "moccasin telegraph" contains. It has nothing to do with human needs...
Your such a gift to the poetic world, Jude. Such power in your muse and your anointing of spirit. You seem to never have trouble penning your truest feeling from spirit and there is a true humbleness of your truth in your life...Spirit is where all things begin and co-exist...Excellent write..Thank you..
