And so blind he won't see himself in this visionary ku. Myopia serves some purpose, but only in very brief stints. Certainly a lifetime of it is more like a deathtime. ~~Nordette

Now such a state as that described herein would be not only boring, but also tragically sad. A myopic poet,... food for thought, Jude.

Most poets get such feelings, could be a poem badly expressed or a misinterpreted poem. Great haiuku. Victor

Muse in hiding, eyes wide shut...and can't see the forest for the trees. Sometmes we just look too hard, too near or too far when it's all there right under our noses...

Would it be the reader or the writer who lacks forsight and vision? My guess would be that the poet is usually clear on their intent but so very often, the poet's message is not well projected or misunderstood by his/her readers. Very nice haiku, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry

if I don't really get this, promise you won't scorn yourself? it's a good ku and, should you be that frustrated poet, remind yourself that, despite ocassional myopic interpretations or viewpoints, there is a remnant from this community and the great cloud of witnesses above and beyond who breathe only blessings upon you. A good poet blames himself when his Muse goes distant. I understand for the same reasons. Melancholy missive and perfectly understood.

A most meaningful haiku, Jude. You express a great deal with such economy of words here. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Shortsightedness of groups of writers that have no idea what the difference is between the business side of the quill and the hobby day-trippers who write nothing that is marketable for today's publishing standards, or one who writes valuable books, but lacks marketing skills and begrudges the writer who is adept at marketing on a professional writers site perused by heavy hitters in the publishing industry, such as editors, agents, screenwriters, filmmakers, and Forbes, Oprah Book Clubs that turn away at the illiterate and envious nearsightedness...
