~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I savor this moment as your dreams reawaken
Departing the sanctuary of poetic chances
Leaping from a ruffled nest of opportunity
To celebrate flight
Across life’s unblemished cliffs
Within the hallowed horizon of your heart
I desperately need to watch you soar
Through the emotional aether of past transgressions
And shed the blueprint skin of their origin
And I don’t intend to see you look back
Or second guess your reasoning
Or underestimate your goals
Now is the time to totally believe in yourself
And disallow the doubt of those surrounding you
Who are afraid of what you will become
When you no longer listen to their meanderings
Or require their sense of approval
This is what I need to see in you
The power of your voice
Inside the direction of your words
Leading to a vision
You will create
For all to see
Like the mother eagle who stirs up the nest and forces the chick to take flight... then spreads her pinions beneath to catch it should it start to fall... there is such a wonderful mutuality about this celebratory write; like both mentor and mentee are blessed within the glorious release aspired to. The chick may be ready for flight but it is the overseer who has the eyes to see the vision that the underling will achieve. A beautiful faith-filled write, Jude, that encourages, energises and exhorts. Sometimes, it just takes a special someone to believe in us and in our dreams... You make a most remarkable sponsor. Makes me think of Fantasia for some inexplicable reason! :)) LOL K xx
more, the inspiration and wisdom are so encouraging, even if one is not soaring...you take flight and give it from the heart and spirit and make one want to soar ...you are so very gifted and this Is a Gift,
Robert ...
Another thought-provoking write indeed ... Kudos!
How easy it is sometimes to be de-railed by those detractors, and gossipers, and whisperers of lies, those megalithic mag-pies who fuel the weaknesses of others to manipulate what they themselves are incapable of doing.
I learned, when I was a professional musician, on the circuits of insanity, how to use the negativity and ugliness of others to empower myself.
The stronger they stood against me, and what I was doing, the stronger I got. At one point I realized that those who stood against me the hardest, actually began empowering me. It was like they were confirming to me that I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing. And this brought me joy!
Ugliness, hatred, and discontented morons, at times, became my muse - and as their negativity filtered through me, it morphed into something completely different than it was. It came out constructive and beneficial and it had the sweet savor of something entirely new.
If you want to see the best and most creative Richard ... put someone that hates me in my path.
Yours in unified celestial brain farts ....
Richard Lloyd Cederberg
If reading POETIC CHANCES doesn't wake up an individual to the potential and power of his or her own soul, it's possible nothing will. Whether intended for a specific individual or not, the sharing of this poem is a thriling gift from the soul of the pen of the poet to any reader lucky enough to experience it.
Jude, this produced a powerful image of a Chief, loosing a trapped bird...as he teaches the Tribe, that one must take flight on its own, especially after experiencing severe wounding.
The strength to do so, is the choice within us...the gift of Free-Will.
Your skill as a Mentor is impressive!
Vowel-rich! I'm going to a different place here in analogy. You say to her "do you know the forest is disappearing?" She says, "oh, no, there will always be a forest here." So you ask her about a particular species, the species of tree that produces a palm-like blue-patterned frond she can tie on under her arms for her wings to celebrate her flight, but yet you have to walk half a day to find that tree. When she sees the raw wounds of barren earth cover the summits of every mountain, you look to her and say "It's what I hope we can prevent." She rises up in lift in total belief of herself at this spiritual elevation above the blue of sea, she soars in the clouds over the highest peaks and it is because of Poetic Chances that she sees the glorious growth of her forest. You've showed her how to use her resources more wisely for all to see...
An inspirational piece, Jude, but that's usually your way. It reminds me of words to a child as you hand them that magic feather telling them they can fly and accomplish anything in life. By no means do I mean the write is childish, anything but. This poem is highly encouraging and instructive to a listener of any age, um any age old enough to understand the speaker. :-) ~~Nordette
