Disconcerting and comforting in equal measure, Jude. The bizarre thing about love for another individual is the wonder that no-one else on the face of the earth is feeling what you are for that particular person right now, or so it would seem. So the implications of that are totally mindblowing - particularly so for those of us who are relatively "in control" of our own hearts and feelings. This wonderfully psychological exploration delineates acutely what it means to be totally at the mercy of inexplicable and "irrational" feelings and to be analytically coolly fascinated by them. Whatever... I would estimate that the strength of such feeling does not go unnoticed and would be unlikely to be sourced solely within your OWN heart! This is NOT a poem of unreciprocity. You have taken the theme of many a love song and spun it into the poetic angel hair that cacoons the yielded heart. As reverential as it is beguiling. Delightful, thank you. K xx

Immediately, I envisioned the exotic distance in her eyes, Hindu, your muse, the red jewel bindi dot on her forehead, "scanning me with your brilliance" in "vanquish" time. The Jains see time as a wheel with six ascending "spokes" and six descending "spokes." The wheel evolves for eternity---it was never born nor will it ever end. Mahabharata advises time cooks all beings and destroys all creatures, when everything sleeps, time is awake, time is hard to overcome. The age we live in now is Kali Yuga. This age is characterized by vice, violence, ignorance, and greed. Perhaps how it is that you are left captivated by what is only experienced within your own heart is that you sought to turn around and climb back up the ladder, reversing the usual process of time. At the end of Kali Yuga, it is believed that Vishnu will descend in the form ot his tenth and final avatar as Kalki, you Jude, the warrior, riding upon a white horse who will destroy ignorance, drive invaders away, and save the good poets...becoming asserts when all things are in constant flux and the chaos theory. Captivated depicts maya, the visible world really is a pale shadow of a true reality beyond...
