~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I expose my passion to a sky without a view
Sitting alone on a windy morn
Only dreams aspire to comfort me
Only heavy clouds to impede the light
I address the wind with a poetic sigh
For only a few seagulls value my muse
Only discarded feathers and falling leaves
Swirl about my feet and brush against my face
Such are the way of nature’s objet d'art
The decorative artifacts of life and death
I disclose my thoughts to a sand crab
Scuttling across the shore
It quickly fades into the sea
I’m sure it has more essential chores
A few more words directed to the approaching tide
And finally this poem comes into life
Man has to descend into his oneness to fully channel his consciousness to the germinal higher part, then and only then, the libido is free for inner exploration. Some are born with knowledge, some derive it from study, and some acquire it only after a painful realization of ignorance. I am one of those seagulls who value your muse, Jude...honest reviewer that comprehends your line below, nature offers us seasonal remnants in so that we can pick them up and create a non-ending cycle of poetry and artistic works, then pass them on to seekers of Truth and Light...
I knew you were at the shore perhaps sitting on a piece of driftwood before I finished the first couplet. How can that be? And the perfect place and day and time it was to create poetry out of nature's obvious simplicity.
What an awakening, like a butterfly unfurling wings and breaking ever-so-softly through the blueprint skin. This is far from an "alone" write, I'd say... rather a delightful solace, being wrapped comfortingly in your own thoughts - the only place you want to be, beachcoming your precious finds and refining them through salt of the oncoming tide. Funny how those objets d'art are life and death in themselvs given the poetic significance they carry for us. Wonderful cacooning here without which it is often hard to face the day... TY K xx
Never trust a sand crab with your secrets, he'll tell Lobby, who'll tell the star fish, who'll tell dolphin who'll tell the whale, and the whale will blubber..
Robert ...
Don't feel alone man, I often find those secret places (or they find me) where I search for ideas.
For my wife and I, it is usually birds in the mountains. Sunday we talked for a while to three hawks that were circling about fifty feet above us. I totally relate to this great write.
I really love the times when I sit alone with my thoughts, seemingly unnoticed by all the others that I share the space with; the world spinning around me, makes me feel as big and as small as I truly am. Beneath a huge gray cloud, pregnant with snow, I find the muted light to be soothing and the chilly air to be heavy with opportunity. Beautiful and profound images in this poem, Jude. I love it!!!
Take care,
Sherry
