~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So you want to feel “real” again
And kick the ass of every obstacle
Hampering the dreams of your convictions
So you want to put the oomph
Back into the fists of your actions
Getting a hold on all that ever possessed you
Speaking out in the boldest terms you can muster
And flex the muscles of your universal strength
Reclaiming the championship
Once left unbridled
Growing intensely inside of you
So you decided to put on your boxing gloves
The ones you left hanging on the wall of your psyche
And reenter the ring of lights
Taking on the greatest match of all
The one inside your bloody eyes
This is a powerful, game write, Jude! At my age, I still want to, and occasionally do, put on the boxing gloves, and usually it is something that wells from within myself, maybe what you call my bloody eyes. Well done!!!!
Peace. Joyce
another masterful piece of writing, vivid imagery and conveys powerfully, the challenge we sometimes go through when wrestling with our own demons. I think half the fight is won when you can begin to acknowledge any conflicts you may have. Thankyou
A power-punch of a write Jude, I have images of the Big-fight-night, the noise of the crowd and a fearsome opponent (the enemy within) ready to be taken down. Excellent.
This is a deep and intense piece ...visually powerful and it captures such raw emotion and the battle to fight and conquer all that we wrestle with internally. Stoke the engines! Stunning work as ever Jude. Panda :)
It is inside of our Bloody Eyes that sits our biggest challange of all.Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.Once the resolves inside ourselves becomes clearer then only can we fight the enemy that is outside of us.Very insightful write with a lot of oomph,Robert!!!
Inspiring! OK, so we go down for a few counts. Once we face down the enemy within, we got a chance. Right, Rocky?? May be thin as a hair, but a chance is a chance. . .now where the hell did I put my boxing gloves. . .
Ding, ding... to reach this point takes great provocation... everything has to fall into line - internal and external circumstance, timing, stages and seasons of physical and emotional maturity. We may come up to the wire a thousand times; we may feel we have thrown a few punches here and there and endured a few rounds; but there will be few times in life that we get to the culmination of THIS point - and few times when we KNOW for certain sure that we have the wherewithall to drive on through it. The "match of your life" can only be against your personal most worthy opponent... in which case it is THE one to win. When heart, soul and mind are so bolstered, we have little doubt as to the outcome. Everyone has their specific time... spotting it is perhaps the difficult thing for most of us. You have captured the sights, sounds and emotions in pure cinema here; spurring each of us on to our own needful victory. Visceral writing, Jude, that pumps life and energy around the poetic heart. Adrenalin rising; fight or flight. Only one option here. Let not the bloody eyes obscure the vision! TY K xx
