Darn it and I have just had a new water tank installed.
Looks like I shall have to double up on the thickness of my wifes old tights as a filter.
Very disturbing, but not so to those who have their eyes open.

I've drunk better!
Does have a prophetic feel, brains dulled and peeps sick due to pollution......
Well, what an interesting reaction this poem evoked in me, Jude; I shivered at the end. There are some very strange and covert things going on in our world today and if we allow them to, they certainly could bring us down like a lead balloon. The news is dismal at best and yet, there are still roses to smell, waves to watch crash upon the shore, mountains to climb and smiles on the beautiful faces of the babies. Life goes on, and living in interesting times is excellent fodder for writers of all kinds. Well done, Jude!
Take care,
Sherry
Staying a stone's throw from Tower Bridge in London, and in the shadow of The Tower itself, I can't tell you how evocative this is in the light of the spooky news of the Bond-esque high level "murder" of the former KGB agent here a couple of days' ago (through radiation poisoning).... A real sense of evil lurking and seamy things spreading... Gulp indeed... Frightening... K xx
You are a man of mystery sometimes. I dig it! This write ... a harbinger of something future?
The imagery is horrifying actually, especially if it is a vision of a decadent and faltering system in its last throws of existence.
I couldn't help but seeing someone sucking the stuffing out of a turkeys butt though, used as a simile for the proliferating rot that is inundating the foundations of too many of our institutions.
Of course then ... this could be a vision of a terrorist nuclear event here in the USA, and if it is, you are dead on the money with the horrid but accurate imagery. Peace out New Yorker!
well, my first inclination was to ask you where exactly you spent Thanksgiving or comment on the disgusting title. but, naturally, your little poem proves to have a hell of a lot of substance beyond that title image. wiping my mouth and looking past corrupted skies, Dawn
Jude this is intense and though I am not completely done reading, this is one of those I will reread a time or two, I think the essence of your words is that when all is corrupt around us eventually our thirst for live will sucumb by necessity to indulge in what we can get. Interesting to say the least my friend.
Flood of snot encrusted dirty environment floating on top of gray matter needs a coat of navel jelly to loosen the rust from the repetitious squeak poetic boogers...there's a narrow-minded gap in the bridge, acid-eaten boards collapse the foothold of society...if you haven't made it across the carry-all-come-one-come-all bridge where the happy people greet you with a quill and a Big Chief tablet, then you haven't lived!

This is strong. Dim thoughts? And polluted also? You need some Christmas Cheer. I'm sure you have better thoughts up your sleeve and we are waiting for them. Victor
