Time to wonder if I really care
Time to feel more dutiful
Time to give and time to receive
Time to decorate the halls with folly
Time to get together with family and friends
Time to party
Time to pray
Time to muster up feelings of brotherhood
Time to give to the homeless
Time to but that plasma TV
Time to feel special and holy
Time to get depressed and lonely
Time to marvel at the colors and sounds
Time to wish all a happy holiday
Time to observe the miraculous birth
Time to stand under the mistletoe
Time to sing carols
Time to cry
Time to wonder why
Time to hope for a better world
Time to fancy snowflakes
Time to indulge in spirits
Time to load up
Time to watch children’s faces smile
Time to see spouse's faces bruised
Time to feel pious and full of mystery
Time to experience ecstasy
Time to be isolated in gloom
Time for Santa to make his grand appearance
Time for angels to dance
Time for dreams to be more than circumstance
Time to soar into the heavens
Time to be buried in the snow
Time to gather around the hive
Time to wonder how much longer we’ll all be alive
Covered the gamet. Got to quit influencing... I remember when the nits were head lice or bed bugs (never got 'em) and grit was what we got from burning all that dirty coal.

I think you have covered just about everything with this poem. Even though each line starts with "Time to," I do not find the redundancy to be boring. In fact, it kept me going. Great write!

Yes, all of these are part of the holiday spirit. Watching the smiles on children's faces and observing the miraculous birth overrides the negatives...Merry Christmas Robert. This is a fine piece which reflects so much truth about this special season. Well done!

Ah, Jude, you've touched on the ambivalence of many and maybe most people's feelings about Christmas. The love and the loneliness, the joy and the pain; the desire to believe and the fear of disbelief, the unknown. A wonderful write!!! Thanks so much for sharing your talent.
Intrigueing write showing the full spectrum of emotions and circumstances of Christmas, there are with the Season as in all things two sides and Robert you captured them well in this write. The only differnence with the season is peoples generosity and giving of alms to the poor and the lonely also increase which though not an answer does help. I also like the reference in the last line for especially as New Year's Eve draws near we do have reason to reflect and take stock of what was and what is to be. Have a great holiday and hope you enjoy many more.

The holidays certainly do muster up a whole lot of diverse feelings, don't they? As I get older and need less, the holidays have become more of a spiritual time. People are momentarily kinder and there is a feeling of unity, at least on some level with most everyone. I wish that people would remember the lesson of Christmas and allow it to fill their heart everyday. Good job on this, Jude.

It seems that Christmas comes around quicker than ever before. As a child it seems we would have to wait for an endless amount of time before this wonderful holiday would finally arrive, now it's here before one can prepare for it...and with each Christmas we are a year older...it does make one wonder just how many more we will be here to celebrate...that is why we should make the most of everyday that God gives us. Great write, very thought provoking.
