Seems to be going around,
Around the poetic landscape
A strain of artistic flight
From mainstream breezes
Surrounding the academia of sterile song birds
Caged in coop of creative endeavor
On feathers of egalitarian eagles
Images of light are versed from outlaw spirits
Spreading over the countryside
Like a billion suns struggling to shine
Ascending into the atmosphere
From the underside of uniquely devised descriptions
Flying from the belly of the beast
Into the dreams of daring fugitives

The "outlaw spirits" and "dreams of daring fugitives" are the stuff which thought provoking and creative poems are made of. "Seems to be going around" indeed. Well done!

Huge observations and implications in BIRD FLEW are fully worthy of an essay on various literary camps and styles. A great read on several great levels,
This poem almost sounds like words from Chief Seattle, with their insight and profound delivery(that is a high praise coming from me, since I truly admire his intense wisdom and powerful teachings). Clear and strong images color this excellent offering.
Take care,

..as always you leave me pondering on many issues ..and the written word I dare to post..mmmm..again I weigh the pros and cons..wondering..
Boredom with what one writes and reads, and being inundated daily with the superficial, which claims some mystical enchantment, would drive any true creative intellect to break free from the damnable fetters and rules of engagment that burden down any visionary in pursuit of something pure and unique.
The internet is rife with pabulum poetry, and lukewarm writing, dredged up from the muck of complacency and lethargy. Change always comes with a vision, and then an application, and then an ensuing storm. Much is destroyed, but much new growth emerges that eventually nourishes and invigorates the eager generations.
Occasionaly forest fires rage for a reason. Thought provoking write Robert.

Are you talking about a bird or artistic thought symbolised by the bird? A caged artisry produces sterile endeavors. Great imagery. Victor
I am always amazed that you can write such sophisticated poetry in less than two weeks. of course, it would take me two decades. this is one of those I'll read again and go, damn I wish I had gotten that when it was time to comment... sorry for taking up so much space saying nothing. Dawn
Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
