I really like this gem because it reinforces what I think I've always known. We should never limit ourselves or our pens and always write what we know. Excellente'

I find it difficult to recognise the direction a creative impulse is moving in at the best of times. So, whether or not it's purpose is successfully achieved is difficult to say. Mostly I set out to write something... and it ends up as something completely different. Perhaps I lack control. Maybe I have not the discipline and application to stick to the point I think I might be wanting to make. Caution is not my forte, but I like to think I am quite vigilant and alive... when I'm not delusional! Thanks for these thoughts wot have made me think. All-systems go from now on, then... This is the same approch needed when doing artwork :-) I wonder with all the writing and art work I have been doing........is this why I am taking so many changes now? :-) Love the way you have expressed the concerns of a writer and then finishing with the thought wave of living through words........never too cautious :-)
Great minds never live in boxes. They soar on the winds of thought and idea looking for a verb of inspiration to blossom into concepts of standing letters connecting phrases. Our gift is to read them.
BTW - the quote on your bio page sums up you and your writings up, very well. "exploring poetic engineering"

Yes, even if oft misunderstood, it behooves us to stretch our writng skills beyond the safe and familar. Great words are often quoted and may seem boring or cliche, but they were often at great risk by those who wrote or said them.
Wow this is just splendid. When we write exactly the way we want and how we exactly feel then we all can relate or feel it. it is always an indeed pleasure to read your poetry especially ones with so much meaning and easy to understand. Keep writing and never stop. Love Aleja Bennett.

what our hearts delight in aspiring to show."
As does YOURS, indeed, Jude. Your verse seems to be as daily a 'flow'
as the very blood in your veins, subsequently keeping the rest of our hearts "delighted."
..."the mystery we circumvent"... like this line, jude; sums it up, me thinks. tragic how the quest for mystery- be it full of spice or cold as ice- frightens so many vulnerable souls. "always vigilant and alive" is, indeed, key.

On a broader note, thanks to insidious political correctness, much of what passes off on the big and small screen as risk taking scripts are, in reality, inoffensive and bland. Unfortunately, there is also an alien, aggressive ideology at work that has shackled the liberty of the pen, particularly in Europe.
On this note, the last line in part 'Always vigilant...' has become the present watchword.
An inspirational poem.
It takes us to a place at which we are all familiar. The desk, the pen, the poised finger over the computer, the mind, ah yes the wonderful enigmatic but productive mind. As you say, always vigilant and alive.
