It is chilling to realize how deeply you have delved into the warped mind of the arson/pyromaniac. I wonder if the burned bodies of the firemen and innocent victims "get them off" as well. This is an excellent piece of work on a tragic subject.

Cool and clear as that freshly lit fuse, this is great writing, Jude. Emotionally, can so relate to this... when a good rant and a vent seems to release endorphins or to soothe in the most perverse of ways, like self-harm. We are all made of the same stuff... given circumstance, who can say or judge how our own chemistry might be when put into the melting pot with all the cuasalities. Love the "artistic phenomenon" triplet.
Emotional sulphur...tears douse the accelerant...perhaps the phoenix will rise from the ashes and I can use it for letterhead background for new creative endeavors...Blessed Be, Jude...

This is an amazing write. Some people enjoy being destructive, just like men in my home country, Somalia, who are fighting for 20 years on nothing. They just love killing others and destroying everything. That is the only way they can maximize their enjoyment.

A psycho-sexual poem VERY well written, Jude. The metaphors help support your premise that makes the comparison of fire to an orgasmicc experience. Enjoyed this write from a very talented writer.
I have always been fascinated with fire. Loving the hypnotic dance of flames as they lick the air. But I've never felt the need to resort to pyromania. So perhaps, that is when someone crosses over into perversion.
The last line is killer: "...smoldering ashes of his blazing orgasm burning." I could see that as your inspiration for this piece.
One of my favorite subject matters - the mind of the pyro.
"As they sardonically dance" this, of course, has philosophical undertones. Love it! "Sexually stimulated" ... is also an interesting concept of this type of depraved mind. A write filled with explicit imagery.
