~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the saddle
Couldn’t care less what this world has to proffer
Not wondering about what everyone is thinking
Not aroused by anything or anyone
Unresponsive to the glitzy rhetoric
Repeating the howl of indifferent stillness
Not distracted by predictable
Scenarios of cause or purpose
Climbing into a heightened state of perspective
Beneath the ruins of what I am
Listening to an inaudible audience
Verbalize the possibilities of what I will become
Applauding without touching
Responding without being moved
I analyze various methods of reaching out
From inside the debris of inertia
Probing into the universal activity of existence
While hurdling over planetary corrals
Fueled by a phase of personal apathy
Subjugated to the sleepless dreams deities scribe
I love the rhythm and tone of this poem.
"Not wondering about what everyone is thinking
Not aroused by anything or anyone. . ."
What is this, if not a state of bliss? Great writing.
Jude, you are the master. I can tell you from my own experience, it is good to step away once in awhile. I believe this mood you've set is either contagious, or a factor of age. Fortunately, the brain still works, even without any arousing elements to interfere in a some blissful inertia. As always -- all the best to you. ~ Sara
Distinctive Ying/Yang effects all throughout, especially these two lines:
"Unresponsive to the glitzy rhetoric
Repeating the howl of indifferent stillness"
Glitzy vs. indifferent but it's like a love/hate relationship of one line coupled to the other. So my review of this can be summed up in a wise old admonition:
YIPPEE KAI YAI YEA COWBOY! You sure know how to ride off into the poetic sunset in style, my Bronx Brotha,
Sounds like a kind of living death that begins with a burst of negative centripetal energy which afflicts the sensory perceptors. You describe what could be construed as a dysfunction well. Unless, of course, it's not a dysfunction at all but just a season of misunderstood renewal that requires patience.
In my humble opinion, a sleepless dream is better than a dreamless sleep. May you have your fill of both sleep & dreams.
I find the inverse velocity, direction and upward shift in energies in this to be fascinating, Jude. My Dad always wanted to call me Roberta. The song, "Killing Me Softly" could be mine as I view the content of this write and feel it explode from within the current unphased internal combustion of basketcase frustration and controlled out-of-control emotion that I am currently seeking to contain. This probably sounds totally AWOL but this is like a pressure valve going off for me, inspite of its superficial reading to the contrary. Caught the sound of the creaking leather from that very first line, and the sense of "heading out" into the usual dusty plains, slow plodding at first with the first descriptive lines - BUT... But, but, but, the dynamic of the focal point of the turn: "I analyze various methods of reaching out From inside the debris of inertia" is critical, I think, in understanding the perspective of this poem, cos to me it is all about the massive forces propelling upwards and onwards, like rocket thrust, that is the fuel actually jetting the persona to new interplanetary mountain peaks whilst all the while seeming to be inert and listless. Your words: "Climbing into a heightened state of perspective Beneath the ruins of what I am... Listening to an inaudible audience Verbalize the possibilities of what I will become... Applauding without touching Responding without being moved"... the energies here are superabundant and the tensions pressing towards "break-out" extreme. This introspective-yet-almost-straining-at-eruption-point write measures about 9 on the Richter Scale with me. The whole tone of this makes me think again about the by-line you used to have on your Biog Page... about coming into AD "to review your perspectives, water your tired horse and renew your dusty thoughts"... or something. Anyways, enough blahblah, but this great inverse-thinking write is a real Lone Ranger write to me. Great stuff! Thanks.... And if you can still manage to hurdle over planetary corrals while feeling in a physical and emotional state of flux, it's a shame you didn't take your Olympian training to a higher level! British Rugby could do with both your goal kicking and "speed" on the wing! :)) Komatose K xx
Rich in power at this time, this vision comes with curing techniques that are being communicated to you...you've got a wooden skewer inserted in your flesh - as we break loose - we free from the bonds of flesh. This vision removes the tallow that seals the pipe bowl and fills the bowl with kinnikinnick - lit from a coal in the fire. Align the four cardinal points of your compass and meditate on the lower and upper worlds - puff the grass - a pinch of kinnikinnik, and soar in the lofty realms where you've dwelled for centuries - rub the ash behind your ears "Listening to an inaudible audience
Verbalize the possibilities of what I will become"...
