Tears of The Tiger

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This lonely night
Even the moon is hiding
Unnoticed in the wake of clouds and misty rain
Even sights and sounds of life’s mysterious jungle
Are silent and inactive
Not due to a deficiency of incentive
Or disregarding the impulse to track
The incentive of dreams available to the untamed spirit
Or the inability to protect its universal domain
But to the sheer scarcity
Of comrades to share in the pursuit of truth and purpose
Not that they are not scattered among the bush and plains
But so spread out they are forced to hunt alone
Yet their effect is legendary
And their tears will heal
Those rarely ever seen
It seems the search for truth and purpose are almost as lost as the inability to understand the spirit...you are one who walks like the Tiger...
Even in tears one must strive to pass the Wisdom of the Warrior Spirit on to those who know not...
exceptional...
nice work, Jude...
I feel this poem is about the light warrior, lone crusade to spread lightness and heal the pain of others. I loved this poem, this is what I felt from your words.
Your poem speaks of the mystery of life. In the darkness of one's spirit dreams give life. Dreams can heal or cause sadness because they are not to be. Sadness and hope are not mutually exclusive.
God bless you. Kathy
Then again? Maybe they're crying because they're hungry... in which case, I hope I never find out if they heal! I loved this one, Jude. Can't help thinking about Wm. Blake's "Tiger". --Charlie
strong and vast where yes we can take from it what we want, first thought brings me to human instict to hunt(look) for companionship but not any that like minded secondly i thought of troops and the need to believe the lies to continue the fight (no signs of weakness)
and then that of a tiger on the verge of extintion......you do do what you do well
always a pleasure!!!
Damned if I don't lament that thought constantly...
Poignant tale of those who shelter themselves from the storm. Guess it becomes much easier to hide your head in the sand rather than stand up for what one believes. Perhaps complacency. Love the message this sends out....
Be safe,
Awimaway... awimaway... awimaway... awimaway..."In the jungle, the mighty jungle"... Funny, I was going to review Ghosts last night with the talk of lions, but couldn't be arsed in the end! I think your very own Gerald Stern would like this one, Jude, dressed in his black and tan. And yes, tiger tears (unlike crocodile ones!) are VERY effective and are the precious dew wrought from The Sounds of Silence which enable life's jungle mysteries to continue to unfold. Never fear, the Eye Of The Tiger is always Burning Brightly. And I, too, seem to have re-found my irrepressible smile! Thank you, Leo! :)) Kate xx
Dear Jude ForÉse, I only know that most human beeings are in a deep slumber and it takes almost a miracle to awaken them, as we love to continue dreaming even if we have to hunt alone. great write Keep going. emile
As I see it ... true friendship and commaraderie is scarce in this modern global village. Finding someone of like mind and vision is always a blessing that should be nurtured and cherished. Nice one Jude!
How poignant Jude! And sad! Man has a penchant for destruction. Woe be anything and everything that gets in his way. Reminds me of a small boy throwing a temper tantrum. Wonderful write!
Jude,
Apathy has made our world a dark and terrible jungle...o, for the good ole days, when people cared, when there was the light of compassion...Well done.
Apathy is rampant in our world today and for the most part, truth and the pursuit of purpose are lost. There are a few crusaders in a sea of oblivion, but the water that flows between them dilutes their voices. You make a massive statement with this fine offering, Jude; you bring to the forefront a topic that society keeps trying to push into a dark corner.
Take care,
Sherry
The lines in this create such strong emotional images that the reader can decipher in so many ways. Myself I almost felt a kind of yearning for the writer to meet and share with people who's spirits are like his own...may be off but just what I took from it. Well done Jude.
Kipling would smile besides Mowgli hearing about the tears of Shere Khan.
But, in other way, the allegory or metaphore of the poem tell us of a tiger within hiding in a moonless emotional landscape.
Nomads of the Jungle, beautiful to behold, though deadly if crossed.
Excellent verses to describe that which is diminishing! Tears, they cry too....
