~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sounds from the ground
Appear from the surface of his departed expression
From hidden tombs
Discovered in predestined thoughts
Revived from death breathing life into itself
Before the ability to bury words
Cloaked his inspiration
Choosing visibility
To ones he received hope from
Declaring liberation
From ones he offered pleasure to
Watching the sun
Surface from the coffer of exhumed history
His heart scrolling through nights
Of timeless ventures
And memories revived from future voyages
Sounds from the ground
Barely audible yet overwhelmingly viable
Tick away
To keep him alive for tomorrow
Jude,
We feel the earth's vibrations all the time. It is those vibrations that heal and guide us through our daily life. Walking along the earth's crust, can revive and vitalize us if only we can be open to it's healing energy and strong vibrations.
Much Peace, Love, and Light,
His heart scrolling through nights
And memories revived from future voyages
These verses struck me in particular but the whole poem is worthy of much more than a single reading; substance for reflection for sure. Thank you, Jude. Love and best wishes,
I remember feeling this in a write I wrote once, "Hope is Restless"
Knowing, where the slightest ember, glowing...there lies a glimmer. The rain never flooded his fire out! Yet, drops on his window's pain, woke him up!
I love where you take me, Jude!
"Sounds from the Ground", is one I will keep, and one I will always listen for!
Bravo!
Love and Peace~
Oh the words of THE POET sounding his verse through the ground. I really like this combo.
"His heart scrolling through nights
Of timeless ventures
And memories revived from future voyages
Sounds from the ground
Barely audible yet overwhelmingly viable
Tick away
To keep him alive for tomorrow"
And tomorrow your ring will echo louder.
Fantastic symphony of sounds in this one, rumbling and burring away to create that seismic tremor effect. Love the balance between the "buried" deep-vowel sounds and the clipped lightness of short nasal sounds, as in "revived, life, itself" and the final "tick, tick, ticking, him, alive". Kinda has the build-up of energy and excitement that accompanies the rush and gush of an oncoming tube train that heralds its long-awaited arrival with that sudden blast and updraught of headwind from the tunnel. You perhaps describe here what it's like to remain faithful to the commitment of a vision by camping out only in its, as yet, unfulfilled past state. By conserving energy and hunkering down, maybe the transitionary stage will pass a little faster. Sounds a bit like living in suspended animation, or in a phase of deconstruction in order to reconstruct. However, far from sleeping there is an acute sense of watchfulness. It's almost like souls awaiting The Rapture or The Second Coming! And it's true; hope makes all things visible, especially those things that have not yet been... Think I'll just go lay my head on a train-track to see what else I can pick up, and see what happens... :)) xx
It is our stories/memories that keep them alive once they're gone. You speak to my heart. Thank you. Yesterday would have been my middle son's 35th birthday, and he "speaks" to me through what we shared.
God bless you. Kathy
