~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The wind expands
Into opposing directions
Its unyielding force
Pushes upon my sense of motion
Tilting me a little left
Bending me to the right
Balancing my bounce
Bare branches are dancing
Accompanying crisp sounds
Cutting the depth of air
Searching for fragments of sunlight
Reminding me, the future
Rewards even dormant efforts
When growth is again visible and light
Feeds the arriving gust of budding dreams
To know the flexibility of a willow is to adapt to all that is placed in front of us and to be able to hold our focus through it all. This is a bright and airy pen, Jude that soothes the soul.
Take care,
I really like this. And browsing thru the reviews, I see I'm not the only one. Reading your poem, I felt physically buffeted by the wind, and felt the fresh, crisp life-birthing air at the end. Good one. --Charlie
Love it! Bounce is balanced, indeed~! {Inspired expression, Jude.}
Wind makes a great metaphor, and you make us feel it pulling one minute, pushing the next. Suddenly I feel like a leaf that has been picked up and made to dance. . .liiiike it, i liiiiiike it. THANKS!
... The bouncing bard balancing on bared branches buds dreams to delight even the most dormant! :)) And who can sleep when there's just soo much creativity in the universe waiting to be unleashed by the trigger of advancing light? High-wired and swinging from the depths of the concrete jungle, those winds whistling through the New York grid form a matrix of energy that heightens expectation and brings those buds to life. Fabulous ascendence and resurgence here. Like that the single line is as a fulcrum in the centre. A nourishing write for those of us who feast on dreams. K xx
The poem reminds me about how that Nilen river's reed swayed when Moses basked was pushing them as it slowly floated away pushed by a breeze that tilted the reeds to the left or bend them to the right.
Your poem's breeze sounds like a whisper.
