~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
just another day-
just another cycle of life and death,
of hostility and tenderness
another colorful and detailed
expansion of universal ideas
and artifacts of existence
another day to father
the dreams and aspirations of creative impulse
another millennium of inspired breaths
admiring the offspring of its own efforts
another celebration of love and beauty
combating the various shells of hatred and belief
another day of god creating then destroying
the validity if its own origin,
as to accelerate the possibilities of its indelible reality
another day to watch the sky open
so to glimpse the reflection of self
infiltrate the heavens
then to close up and return
us to the distortions of daily experience,
so to empower us to endeavor
the impracticality of our inevitable conclusions
another day to storm the rain and thunder
and to embrace the sunshine
to continue to excite the fears of our own assurances
I can only imagine how this brilliant poet spends his days, whether they are good or bad, must leave a unique and wonderful aurora wherever he goes. Well Done! Deborah
Each day presents its own set of challenges. As you so aptly described. We are all survivors of about 4 billion years of turmoil. Each of us is grasping. When we die, our only survival is our offspring.
Just another day perambulating through the creative thought processes of RJF would be a trip for any prospective moonwalker and a joy for all us earthlings who know that, actually, we are really star-lings. Your signal use of all lower-case suggests to me more understatement, as Jeanette suggests below, endorsed by your hushed and reflective tone. The suggestions that you often make in your poems of glimpsing the reflection of self in mirrored or opened skies endorses your periscopic worldview. Yes, we ride the endemic cicumstance of daily experience and emotion to attain the goal of our "inevitable" conclusion, whether that be of finality or ultimate state. But, as you say in your final line, even if the quiver in our liver resonates with some indefinable certainty of assurance, exciting the "fear" in anticipation of it is part of what living life DAILY to the full is all about. Another fabulous outpouring of muse, of which Father Time/Immortality himself might be proud! :)) ... Now to return to the distortion of my quotidien, "slipping into stockings, stepping into shoes, dipping in the pocket of (my) raincoat"... mKKartney Kate xx
With all the ideas and activites in your poem, the title, "another day", is an understatement. Sounds like the mental store of plenty.
Another day is the stamp we put on our today at the end of the day, so we can open it tomorrow, (only if that PostMaster in the sky decides to deliver)
Another day to live and do your best. The contrasts are superb but I feel I need another day to see the sunshine and go on with my life. Today was a good day after all too. Let the heavens surround me with there beauty at least too.
just another day to mass market substructure and lay bare Gaia's corpse murdered by her rivals to high-rise tenents, blacktopping over graveyards whose bones indeed come back to haunt the dishonest jockeying for number 1 position gilded bronze elephant - ahh, the best poetry/fiction is grounded and made real by the sense of place. The Hall of Supreme Harmony relies on another day of cosmology and wind and water (feng shui) - Poet of the trained eye and sageways, Jude...the five-clawed Bronx dragon, excellence, perserverance, and Truth from walls, eaves, and cosmic ceilings...another day looking at the Dog Star soon..."so to empower us to endeavor."
You must know that it is also another day to love. I cannot go one day without loving someone or something. It is God's gift to man. To have the emotion of love. You are a very lovely man, Jude, and I absolutely love your poetry!
Much peace, love, and light,
