A perfect offering, Jude. Our own self-image is rarely the one that others see, yet we often choose to live within the parameters of those other's perceptions. If we ever intend to evolve into the person we truly wish/need to become, we are all going to have to let the mirrors shatter and begin anew.
Take care,
Sherry
Shattered pieces of my facade surface surfaced,
Focused on the moment
when I first divided my intentions
Finally as one, I was whole again
echoing your distant approval.
I love it Jude, sure makes one think of how they wish to be accepted.
Thank you for sharing.
Jude,
Lovely play with the ideas of partial whole and distorted images, our partial whole and distorted selves...and always too many of each
preventing core understanding.

A masterful last line Jude. A masterful poem. Just what we expect from you. The tracker notification pops up in my Email and I know I'm going to be enthralled by your latest. You "engineer" words beautifully. You've stopped amazing me, I've grown accustomed to your genius and look forward with great anticipation to your next piece.

Wholeness comes from looking at wholeness, instead of broken shards,
thanks for sharing in your enriching wisdom of words, and the reminder to look at the whole more often. Blessings! Jasmin Horst

Funny how it’s when we remove ourselves to a bigger, clearer, less-complicated picture that the true face of the soul emerges, pushing through the spilt/split superficial fragments. Personally I can become over-indulgent and like a monkey with a puzzle about the matrices of life. And I’m fascinated that redemption came at the point when it was realised that intentions had been divided. We can mean our intentions to be cerebrally governed, but actually I think it’s the beliefs of the heart that fashion our will. When heart and mind divide, truth and integrity are lost which leads to the swollen discomfort of soul. So way to go, Kartero! Helping one another into complete wholeness is the greatest gift we can bestow. It’s what we all long for in our personal dealings one with another. This gets the seal from me! Onwards and upwards, Senor xx
"Change one's thoughts and you change one's direction," seems to be the theme of this interesting poem. We all have days when our soul is sharded like a broken mirror, but we can't continue in that destructive frame of mind so we look for another mirror that is unbroken.
This one could reflect so many aspects of our lifes and periods of our lifes...all too often things and situations seem hopeless only to be alleviated by a new day...
I am always amazed when I read you writing, you have such a unique style. Powerful write...and even more powerful after reading and contemplating again.
Sometimes, looking into the mirror one gets a sudden panic and scream, "where's the glue??? ! ! !" because isn't the mirror that's broken.
Shattered intentions about seeking someone's distant approval?
Jude, this is a hefty poem to click on after a very long day, gutted by the shattering fall and relieved by the few lines that find wholeness again - amazing write, i think i'm too stunned to even faint!
Jude,
Shattered glass takes on life of it's own. When you look down on a mirror that has broken into piece, it does feel like you are looking at pieces of yourself. Each reflection separated by the broken shards of glass. None the less, each piece reflects one part of the whole image you have of yourself. When that image is shattered, like the mirror, it is an awakening of your mind and soul. We have the power to keep our "image" intact, no matter what has or will happen in our lives. We choose to react in what ever way we deem necessary. I, myself, always choose the more positive, enlightened option, but sometimes I do slip and see myself as less than what I really believe I am. Sorry to go on and on, but your poem has really touched me in a deep way.
Thank you for that beautiful mind of yours.
In peace, love, and light,

it's a wonder I have any mind left for over the years you have blown it with poems such as this. You amaze me,and it makes me eagerly wonder just how many more minds you can blow! Outstanding Jude, the way you consistantly put together such unique themes!
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
