sometimes, life’s magic hushes up
screaming madly until its voice hangs out

teasing, daring,
hiding in crooks and crannies
of synaptic manifestos

playing hide and seek
with emotion and passion

smashing ubiquitous waves
atop shores of intellect

misting piers of dream speech

when it reasons,
it whispers neural behavior
upon blurry vision

endeavoring to clarify
its vibrant source

'Tis our fate as humans to sort through the mish-mash of emotion, logic and perception. Most of the time we make like bears not birds.
Do appreciate this write!

the prospect of the human mind ever being successful at self-examination seems as remote as ever; whispers of neural behavior or not!
love the way you fire-up those synaptic manifestos.

A fascinating journey into the "crooks and crannies" of the mind. Absolutely love the image inspired by "smashing umbiquitous waves / atop shores of intellect." Unique and original writing. ~leslie

... Don't think there's too much wrong with your "blurry" vision, Kartero; you see all dream markers in the day-to-day world perfectly, as you witness here in your "between worlds" imagery and context. The touchstones of the dream speak eloquently, even when silent; indeed, even when invisible, they leave their calling card upon the fabric of our souls in the form of an unexplained tingling of the lips or a sudden fire in the belly. Playful, yes... and frustrating... very! As all dreams that so closely shadow our realities usually are. Keeps the old grey cells on high alert though, don't it?! :)) Hope you're well... I'm away cavorting round London atdemo... letting it all hang out, you might say! xx

An wonderful play with words. I especially liked...

"smashing ubiquitous waves
atop shores of intellect"

So much of my time is wasted in my head.
Glad I stopped by and had a chance to enjoy this.

It seems that the world is in a blur these days. As soon as we have it all figured out, the media convinces us that we have it all wrong. We are caught between our own intellect and going with the flow like lambs being lead to slaughter. We question even our best judgment and wonder why our dreams never come to be. Excellent on many levels, Jude and amazingly subjective.

Take care,

Sherry

Even on a clear day you can't see every tree in the forest all at once specifically, you have too much on your plate Jude, I think Amber got it right, a singular focus might help.

Jude,

I can feel your energy throughout this deeply written poem. Vision that is blurry can be corrected, but emotional vision takes much more tenacity and time. When we have emotional blurry vision, it comes from deeply within our souls. It is blurred until the mind can handle the reality of our blurriness. I often go to the shoreline, to reach a level of clarity and health. That doesn't always do it for me, but I know that meditating and reciting mantras can help also.

I have this amazing cd called: "The Essence" Deva Premal it's in the New age section and it was produced in 2001. The very first tract is the most effective for me. It's called: "Gayatri Mantra".

Here's to clarity, peace and passion to fill your life!

Take care of yourself, and be back sooner than this last time!

Much Peace, light and love,

Amber

It's all very clear to me, these lines written of poetry's acute astigmatism, a visual defect of the unequal curvature of one or more refractive surfaces of the eye, usually the cornea, refractive error in which light rays fails to come to a single focus on the retina. To lighten up blurry vision, we need to play hide and seek with passion and emotion...we need to have corrective vision of the control of our destiny...Visine takes the red out, but we need to put the red in, the color of passion and heart...scribbling on the piers, the boardwalks, quiets the mind to a whisper of aching silence...clarity and direction, your signature line,

"sometimes, life’s magic hushes up
screaming madly until its voice hangs out"
