... this ain't no tasteless dumpster write, Kartero, though it is perhaps self-compostin, mulching in some good stuff now that a Moods In Motion season is once again upon us. Springtime's drizzling dreams and penetrating, piercing winds of light certainly do much to shake up our mutual poetic solar systems: look see how your "earth-based sky" and "scorching snowflakes" from "symmetry" have impacted on my very real-life world during these past few days!! First, though, there's the kernal of thought that splits once watered into the many-splendoured words; this seems pretty Biblical to me - in the sense that it's the articulated words that become active in the universe and real life flows through them. Like the kernal, thoughts are put to sleep once they have been wrapped around, supplanted by the words which express them. In this way, idea might be said to be passive, words active; once the thought is sown, words grow... Hmmmm... will mine EVER be cut down to size, I wonder?! Beanstalk stuff her, Jack. We as poets are as you so eloquently suggest are like farmers...we take the barest hint of an idea, plant it, fertilize it with adjectives and descriptives and soon it grows if we give it lots of tlc into a full poem
