large dreams
are expanded by shrinking reality’s surroundings,
constantly altering the flexible conditions they evoke

the nature of grand episodes
is barely kept alive
by their own diminutive functioning,

for the universe if much too small
to contain the aftermath
of their impulsive nature

the blood flowing through our thoughts
oozes from our wounds
like an uncontrolled oil spill

impure, it’s crude and copious,
but it’s essence
deep within us,
continues to keep us alive

I like this simile very much; it awakens a lot of thought and meaning in my mind. Thank you, Jude. Love and peace to you,

has the 'global village' forced us to rebel? yes, give me land, mental, emotional land vast as Canada where my blood is a river however contaminated ... at least it keeps me ticking.
Yes, Jude!

jude, there are many things taking place here -- driven to examine, to explain and reason -- dreams are the boarding places for our shunts into the unimaginable and the mundane, sometimes both within the same nocturnal event -- it is much like a race to purge and defrag your PC's memory, so our creative gray matter hits the "refresh" button -- this is an interesting rendering filled with possibilities and reality's harsh, crushing grip also -- may peace and love be always with you my friend -- Jon Michael

When dreams explode into or inside the mechanics of the day-to-day mundane, then yes, it's difficult to either absorb or contain their aftermath - such is the experience of the spiritually attuned who exist constantly within the state of lucid dreaming anyway. Theirs is a complex world order , balancing their internal and external landscapes of emotion and experience to keep within "reality" whilst at the same time gravitating more towards and feeling more energised by and part of the dream. And, after a Big Revelation, there is always a sense of great anti-climax to find onself still strolling the temporal 24/7 right where we are when in dream-terms we exist on a totally different timeframe and plane, fed, sourced and resourced by the blood of the dream.

You are Palabras de Punta Paloma personified. Our thought waves are so mirrored at times that my string-theory reasoning wonders whether our brains have evolved from the same stem cells. Whatever, Kartero. The "large dreams" of molten earth are infinitely flexible and can be constantly altered and moulded to fit the conditions as evoked. Don't you find it fascinating that the latest attempts of BP to stem that oil flow has centred on pumping mud into the "wound" to try to cap it off?!

Great ooze of thoughts and stream of consciousness here. You may very well mean "impure" in that final stanza, but the crude and copious nature of thoughts' creativity makes me think more in terms of "raw and unrefined". Great mixture: shaken, not stirred! :)) tourni-Kate xx

Jude - This poem evokes the essence of life as we learn to live with both the physical and the spiritual within us. Especially admire the first and last lines:

large dreams
are expanded by shrinking reality’s surroundings,

and

but it’s essence
deep within us,
continues to keep us alive

Uncontrolled thoughts are much more dangerous than quietude. It is obvious the grand scheme to produce a mile down is bleeding the best thoughts of those who created it and on your mind, too.

Jude, dreams are our oasis of thoughts and feelings. The subconscious leaking into our reality in our sleeping state.
A man such as yourself can only dream big thoughts, for visions are part of those dreams. Deeply rooted pain needs to be worked out through the dream process. It manifests itself through the blood that oozes from those wounds. It is sometimes uncontrollable the amount of information that we receive during those dreams. All in all, most of my dreams have been very helpful in finding my way toward my destiny and mental health, I wish this for you.

The abundance of this blood that flows is of a deep essence, the essence of your soul's energy. You cannot deny it's energy signature, nor can you deny when that soul craves something bigger than the mind can imagine. That is why it comes to most through their dreams, it is easier to accept and understand.
Sorry to go on so long, but your poem really struck a deep chord with me, it touched my soul's energy.

I wish you a blessed day, and a wonderful memorial day weekend. I certainly hope you have a few days off of work to rest and enjoy the sun...You will see me laying on Sound View Beach on a Red Sox towel...Go Sox..I am sure you are a Yankees fan, but that is great always like a good sparring..

Much peace, light, and love,
Amber

Can we take this to mean your State of Being? As the man grows toward his sustenance as to grow toward his personal chi. Mixture is a tension between the poet's growth toward a unity of vision having difficulty shaping that vision at a crisis point with the earth's wounded condition...this poem is both private and public, a requiem for a lost dream...

you've nailed a good one here, everything external is the reflection of our inner self, toxic and all...sometimes it requires "grand episodes" to shake us out of business as usual and become aware of our personal cause and effects...

It seems that life is closing in on us, more and more by the year. I feel like there is a tight girdle of reality that is so pathetic and so hard to wrap my thoughts around, that dreams become my only salvation from a world gone terribly wrong. I try to find the positive in the spin that is going on around me, but I just have to keep reminding myself that actually this is all just a dream and life, if we could accept it as such, would be perfect. This offering is thick and meaty, Jude. Lots of glassy shards tossed out there for us to reflect upon.
Take care,
Sherry
