my loneliest angel visits me daily
whispering advice in waves of color and light
descending into view within the horizon’s hue
her ascension is vivid and bright
lately, she’s frustrated, staring into space
detached, perplexed, a stoic face
still she shields me from harm and fills my arms
even though we're apart and alone
"even though we're apart and alone"
Still for some reason these last parting words seem very sad.

I'm always amazed at how many people there are in the world, but many of us are still lonely. Goes to show that we all are more like each other than not. Hugs,

but i am around everything inside
…to me this is a beautiful follow-on from your last poem, shelter, Jude. By my interpretation in that context, it speaks of your Hero of Zero who is without, within and with whom your relationship is mutually shielding and protective: feathery, amorphous yet so substantial in power and potency that she fills your arms notwithstanding whatever forms of space and distance might seek to intervene. It feels like a postcard you may have written of self and sent from heaven to earth to keep you going through dark days. It also calls to my mind the persona of the subject of a beautiful recent poem by Darkest Angel, Your Dance, for some reason. And Amber is absolutely spot-on with her observations: love is a heat-seeking missile or the force of many waters returning to its source and that’s why and what we so thirst in this life. It can’t be denied that our myriad thoughts are intricately woven into the continuum of fabric that is all our shining minds, clothing our souls with a refining fire. I’ll send you a song by Emily Maguire, one of my favourite “local” singer-songwriters, in honour of all your angels however, wherever they are found or, indeed, seemingly lost. Each of them speaks to you of Home – that place where ultimately no one will be apart or alone.
One of my enduring, favourite themes for certain sure, Kartero, and a City Of Angels write if ever there was one! And the fall in tone of that strong, singled-out non-rhyming “alone” really echoes and resonates, emphasising the “clang”. Now I’m all angelled-up, I’m away and inspired to some gloom-dispelling whimsy of my own! Thanks!:)) xx

Profound piece of poetry as always, you touch me with your words, and uplift me with your spirit.
From one lonely soul to another, it is only a moment away to happiness.
Much peace, light, and love,
Amber
Take care,
