~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you’re more than unusual
your skin is a pixilated screen
of far-off dreams
a membrane transformed
into a crown of nucleated substance
a spectrum of sound
resembling a shapeless tomorrow
your voice, an echo
bounces off infrequent winds
returning to the origin of where
you will never again remain
a blueprint skin reborn
by the pulse of a hidden architect
accustomed to being abnormal
I can't seem to rad this as having to do with an image on a screen, but as a tribute to a real person. And a tribute to the "abormal," or perhaps one should say "original." Real beauty involves the flaws. The true seer always sees that, like you do.
Jude, this creative work sends me exploring down varied paths. Seeking a multitude of answers, possibilities and then questioning my reasoning. This is my kind of poem my dear friend. Interpretation is free and more than one is correct and applicable. Love and peace to you. Jon Michael
Interesting contrast between the very tangible element - skin - and the impalpable intellectualization of it.
... you're such a darling: who wouldn't want to strive to be the "abnormal" you speak of here?! Reminds me my biog pics are resized and always come out grainy... either that or it's the grey hair that's also starting to proliferate, LOL!! :)) Love the daliance of the amorphous/shapeless with the enticing allure of being also blueprint and part of some over-arching hidden design: that's the kind of uniqueness and omnipresent raison d'etre each one of us perhaps aspires to. A "you" that holds the tension between the nuclear and the big bang... through just a membrane, an "unusual skin". This has attraction/repulsion language that speaks of magnetic forcefields and makes me think of the dangerous tactility of mercury. And mercurial is what this is. Nice! :)) xx
What is normal Jude? Whispers that have captured our hearts will still echo on the winds when the voice is silent. Excellence as always.
A topographic changeling; skin a map of emotions and thoughts never needing to be verbalized. A whispering vapor that melds into our being. I love the visuals in this piece, Jude, though it was not until after reading it a few times that I was able to see the cohesiveness of it all. A heavy slap to the brain cells for so early in the morning but none the less a stimulant that may supercede my need for coffee.
Take care,
Sherry
Jesus God, I'll be up all night decoding this one. This is fantastic. Classic, Jude-flavored mindbending vocab warp, forwards moving backwards, a law unto itself. Excellent piece!
I don't know what it is that you're feeling or what caused you to write this, yet your words have a beautiful and powerful effect in a way that I cannot explain. When I read your work, I sense an intelligence and a sensitivity beyond the "norm." Yours is a beautiful soul.
This poem gets under my skin..I just wrote a poem about being so restless I could crawl out of my skin and fly to the moon..Do you want to come with me? I am ready, The moon could be just what the doctor ordered for both of us...
Someday this hidden architect will be constructing a world that will allow himself to be seen by eyes wide open that are filled with a promise of divine truth and love; and let's not forget peace.
I love the stanza "your voice, an echo, bounces off infrequent winds"
whispers in the wind are meant to be heard.
Fly Me To the Moon, won't cha come along....love this song..
Much peace, light and love, Jude,
Amber
