i’m rattling my bones
with mind’s budding muscles,

subjecting the marrow of my ideals
to the core of this world’s critical mass,
with quizzical dreams
and sentient movements
layered with dire undress

i’m attempting to reason
the fusion of substance and space
flustering within the nerves
of my most astute observations,

reorganizing the pulsation of my heart
and the electric waves of my soul
with the fine mist of being

i’m trying so hard to solidify my quest -

to unearth my actions
with the growing particles of my origin
and the sunrise of my demise

such is the way the world will end
inside my beginning,
when i can finally steer clear of my self

Jude, I don't think I've read anything else this poignant, imaginative or revealing all year. Excellent wordsmithing in this piece. You are a master poet.

Sometimes we are our own ruin? Sometimes it's a defense mechanism and we just can't help ourselves. Thoughtful piece.

Hmmmm... now let me see.... marginalia or genitalia?! which way shall I go... ??!! :)) I would say there's definitely a bit of both here: there is the very visceral and fundamental "dust to dust" aspect of this poem jostling to be heard amongst all the "ah, but..."s of the intellect's spiritual and existential reasoned investigation. And both are forced through sieve of experiential truth. Trying to solidify whilst at the same time seeking to evaporate can be tricky: thank God, therefore, you haven't already written off "the reinforcement of dreams maneuvered by unseen angels thrusting opened wings into the core of my growing mêlée". Such are the wings that will probably steer and keep you clear of whichever selfs frustrate one of these days. Maneuvering. It is all we are capable of as mankind, emotional issues. Purpose, being and not being, decisions not granted to us. We are granted to play a little, maneuver, at the margins of a temporary existence. Our sphere of influence? Influence! Play for fun at the margins. Anything less insults our purpose. Love and peace to you my dear friend. Jon Michael

Excellent expression about something that may touch us all in some point when we do feel that sometimes we get in our own way. That is the magic of expression...in that it touches us all differently and yet the same.

sorry Robert but you're stuck with you, most interesting verse, we can't run from ourselves, I've tried a few times but the best thing to do is to face up, then again depending, it might be good to stay in fantasy or blame game, as in blaming the parents or the world. When I see real big fat people I feel sorry for their capture in this world, you can't run, you can't hide, we're in for the ride no matter how bad, cheers

I read this poem last night, but was so tired I just needed to wait till tonight to respond. I am presently designing One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest at Ivoryton Playhouse. Needless to say, your poem correlates my experiences with this play.
Sometimes we are our own worst enemies, we cannot seem to stop sabotaging our own growth and development. I for one, can always steer clear of negativity, but once in a while I do get in my own way.
I am in a quandry, it almost makes me think that you are about to make a huge life choice, but somehow you feel it could be the sunrise of your demise. Do not let fear stop you, nor uncertainty block your judgement, you must listen to your heart and allow the Universe to guide you. If you are stumbing, stumble on over, I will catch you.
I see good things for you up ahead, but you need to believe deep inside your being that you can trust yourself to make the right choices. Go for it, Jude, you only have one life to live..

"As you breathe each moment in and out, look to your soul and see what's inside. what is abundant in your life? What are you grateful for? What do you need more of? As the answers flow to you, fill what is empty and empty what is full." quote from DAVIDJI

I offer you much peace, light and love,
Amber

It's so true, that we often stand in our own way...whether it's through fear, uncertainty or just plain laziness. Keep reinventing...never lie dormant...it's just so darn difficult at times, isn't it?

It seems in the world's eyes we can get painted into a box and not considered much as an individual. The world of secularism is easy to escape from by not being a conformist and cutting the strings of political correctness which socialists try to mold us into for collective thought.

If we continually strive to be normal, we will never know how extraordinary we truly are. We must step out of the box, even if it is the very box we have designed for our self, if we wish to grow into the person we are in our dreams. Excellent message and verses, Jude. I really enjoyed reading this; a great way to wake up my brain for the day.

"reorganizing the pulsation of my heart

Squeezing the cosmic pump bulb like squeezing the testicles to know they're still alive! Grab it while the grabbing's still good, Jude! This whole poem is an ejaculate of reinvention, maneuver is semen philosophy, getting it out so a new load can grow...
