~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a monarch butterfly
flutters past my window
superimposed
by a stream of aging clouds
a living canvas of complementary flights
dispensed
into one giant mosaic of cerulean sky,
orange spotted angelic wings
and pillowed breaths of nature’s caress
a daylight moon
surfaces through massive loopholes of heaven
my eyes converge
on the silhouette of god’s everything
shinning through windows of glassy light
My view for the last thirty years. Aaah, for a change.
So glad you can clearly see the little things that make such a difference.
... Reminds me, but of course, of the spots before the eyes I got in Venice: so many gold-leaf mosaics; so much artistry in glass; such watery ethe-reality trapped within labyrinthine, rootless reflections. It was only on the lagoon waterfronts I felt that I could breathe: the atmosphere there was always that of the pastel-coloured, misty paintings of the Masters: very much as
"a daylight moon
surfaces through massive loopholes of heaven"
This is a very personalised, "of the moment" take on this delicate, visionary offering which seems to me a bit of a soothing Rorschach write... each of us sees what we want to see or whatever silhouette is currently lurking in the light/dark play-off between majesty, mystery and masquerade in our minds...
A beautiful and tender flutter-by, flutter-by, Francesco. xx
There is a candle in the heart of man, waiting to be kindled.
In separation from the Friend, there is a cut waiting to be
stitched.
O, you who are ignorant of endurance and the burning
fire of love----
Love comes of its own free will, it can't be learned
in any school.
If you show patience, I'll rid you of this virtue.
If you fall asleep, I'll rub the sleep from your eyes.
If you become a mountain, I'll melt you in fire.
And if you become an ocean, I'll drink all your water.
Any soul that drank the nectar of your passion was lifted.
From that water of life he is in a state of elation.
This freedom is worth more than all the lands on earth.
To be one with the truth for just a moment,
Is worth more than the world and life itself.
In the end, the mountains of imagination were nothing
but a house. "Rumi"
Jude, Your poem brings me joy.
Much peace, light and love,
there is the great and the small all woven together into the tapestry of "everything." a poetic "smelling of the flowers" so to say, a blend of sensation and geometry melded elegantly into the universal architecture, astonishing, emotive and vivid if we stop to pay attention.
If you can quash our monarchy it will be a blessing. I can stand no more about the royal wedding.
That aside, this has a depth of majestic beauty. Rather like the sun filtering through a 1200 year old churches stained glass windows. As-well-as the moonlight as Easter approaches.
Quite ineffable to describe, yet this has a divine feel.
