a phantom apology
quickens
into a dialogue of sound,
barely reaching my ears

yet, its intent
touches
a shady echo
within my eyes:

a ghostly undercurrent
projects onto my thoughts,

transforming into a excessive
dilemma of potential themes,
through a veil of priestly thoughts

so all is accepted
and absorbed,

finally, i can let it all go

Peter's symbiotic interaction, yes. The bond between confessor and penitent is one of trust and vulnerability; their interaction a form of mutual release, an exchange of spiritual breath. Confessionals have always seemed like instruments of torture to me: exposing your own heart's shadows to an unknown stranger through an obscuring latticed mesh. Yet the sacramental mystery of absorption and acceptance so often follows - leading further to acknowledgement and personal acquittal. Such divine intimacy born within the strict confines of severed anonymity. To walk free of judgment - both of/by self and others - is empowerment indeed. As Jon says, Grace and Peace kiss in this write. Interesting, exKommuniKate-d xx

jude, the resolve to accept an apology that has come from an offender's heart is like a mystical kiss upon the cheek. It feels good and satiates a heart that has suffered a wound in the routines of day to day living. Acceptance is an advance of graciousness from one with profound wisdom. A poem from one with noble intentions my dear friend. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

Written in the first narrative makes this poem alive and real.
Those whom it relates to, will feel as if it is their own.
Very clever!

The personal ritual (exercise) that you share via your verses seems to be one that could (should) be espoused by many of us and thus it is easy to relate to what you express. Thank you, Jude. Love and peace,

Regis

I feel that after reading your last three poems, you seem to have reached a pinnacle of self-contentment in your work! If you haven't you should!;-)

Private sorrows are quietly confessed to obtain release and some forms of catharsis may be shared. I like the idea of "echoes" and "projections" here.

Here is a little voice behind the big voice and you are listening to both as you come to terms with the many gifts you have, Jude.

Jude, yes, Acknowledge, accept and let go, a mantra for spiritual well being and evolvement. I could feel your forward motion, defying gravity, steadfast toward your destiny. Release all bindings, cut away psychic cords, melt through the dimension toward total freedom of mind, body and soul, and know that you have arrived at your final destination...life as you want to live it.

I find your poem both uplifting, inspired and most profound.
You deserve so much, now go out and get it.

Much peace, light, and love,
Amber

I am getting things out everyday, everytime I write something here and they may be not very good, but I always feel better afterwards and so should you...Ed

Last three lines are so true. Without being able to accept and absorb, it is useless to try and let go. You can't let go of something you are unwilling to own.

Sometimes we have to do a little personal housecleaning just so we can redefine our goals and begin the process of recreating. What is the point of being normal or stagnant when we can be extraordinary? Nice upward curve to this one, Jude.
Take care,

To be able to "spit it out," is a catharsis there is no doubt. I went about my confessional by means of AD and other poetry sites where I wrote many poems about my crimes, morally and reality. Te poems were amateurish to a fault in the beginning (some feel they still are), but I was doing what I had to do to "own up" to my many faults. Got a bit carried away here, Jude. Anyway, it worked for me. It was tough, but it worked for me.
