Heck yeah. It is totally intrusive and an excuse to have everyone listed on a fed data bank. Hs anyone been captured in this year of the brainwashing mantra of fear. I'm a tad amazed that intelligent people even believe that their rights are not being infiltrated. It is far more reaching than just thinking you've arrived safely in another country by air.

The information gives easier access to your bank details, who you vote for. H G Wells 1984 is just a fairy-tale to that which is really happening. Use sat nav in your car, they even know where you are and your speed, etc. They'll have your DNA if you've travelled to or in the states.

Being alien, like JF, I should keep mum on this subject - 'cept to say you could equally almost speak of UK. However, on the whole, having recently flown to Venice and saying much the same thing, stripping off boots, belt and hairpin with others who aren't batting an eyelid in a similar state of undress at 0500hrs seems a reasonable price to pay to ensure I arrive humbly alive instead of proudly dead. This is the monster world of our own creating and I most certainly hope they soon devise suitable checks for those who have to travel as a matter of course. But for those of us who are busily eating up the world's resources for pleasure and play - we can choose. In many instances I would say security measures are too lax. Not so in New York, though: your immigration line is pretty inhospitably lengthy and the Green Form declaration totally scary: I thought I was goin to be banged-up for bringing in a few emergency Earl Grey tea-bags and Dorset Shortbreads for George! The WWII concentration camp antics come immediately to mind Jude. We have been willing to permit tens of thousands of illegal aliens, many of them terrorist,to climb over, under and through our unmanned border fences. Bringing with them whatever they wish! This is not perceived by the politicos as being a threat to our national security or the safety of the population at large. So, whenever a legal citizen desires to climb aboard a 737. The FEDS now demand that we be either irradiated or fondled until the TSA chaps have had their daily quotas of sexual arousal. What is obviously array with this picture is a socialistic bureaucracy run amok. Common sense and and our guaranteed liberties mean nothing to them. So, I suppose we will all be forced to stop flying for a month and bankrupt the airlines to get the FED'S attention. However, that would probably just be cause for another government takeover of private enterprise and the attendant tax payer funded bailout. It is indeed a very slippery slope my dear friend. A great current topic, Jude. What is it the Prez said after 9/11? Wasn't it something about terrorists not winning? Seems they have to me. I personally don't travel, but if I did, I'd want to get to my destination in one piece. If that requires an x-ray security point...so be it. But I won't sit by and let the Prez say they didn't win. We are changed forever as a nation. Profiling at the airport? I recommend they start doing so at our damn borders instead. Hugs,

I quit flyin several years ago; these days, if I can't get there by car, I don't go. (And I often get to my destination faster than those who still fly.)

Fiesty this morning, Jude, but you raise some serious questions and you are completely warranted in your perception of what is happening in the USA. Terrorism has been on all of our minds since 9/11. I will agree with you on this matter, whole-heartedly, but some how we must all do something to stand up for our rights. It was such a long time ago that we fought to be free, maybe it's time again..(2012 life as we know it), could be exactly what the people need to fire up change.

Certainly, I am totally against this new xray idea for scanning at the airport, it is not only intrusive and a form of abuse but also harmful to our health...we don't know how much exposure to radiation one can handle before we start to get certain types of cancers.

Yes Our government is out of control, there needs to be a movement for the people and only for the people.

Good thing I am from Los Angeles and (to me) expletives are more of a means of expressing frustration than they are foul words because your rant really gets into the bowels of the problems, Jude. Innocent people are being treated like terrorists and terrorists have all the rights, far more than "We The People." Our Government is becoming less intelligent by the regime and its citizens are being shit upon by all of them. The only way that this country is going to become strong again is if the citizens rise up and demand that The Constitution and Bill of Rights become the highest laws of our land, again, that our nation begins to provide security for its citizenry and stops stripping US of our rights. I don't have a problem with profiling when the worst that is going to happen to those being profiled is what is now acceptable to happen to all of the rest of us. Way to rant, Jude, I agree with you whole-heartedly.
