~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 … and some days travel by seemingly without end
yet in reality, they are much too short
as life is proving to be:
a long and burdening process of elated moments
and fits of hopeless confusion
where eating, sleeping and shitting
are attesting to be more than one can bear
yet dreams of love are the light beyond air
where adventures of being,
more than the stuff of whim
and the substance of impulsive action
brew yet another fall
to rise again reborn, flawed yet realigned:
my spirit soars freely
in these moments of heightened conflict
as life’s dying cares
grow in motion,
aiming for a brighter, more suitable cause
Told how it is:) The cycle becomes tiring at times, but those few-and-far-in-between moments of love and happiness can light the way. Hugs,
An adventurous soul, one that learns something new, looks for the important cause ahead. It isn't easy to show such movement, the readiness to rise again after a fall and the will to find more.
yet dreams of love are the light beyond air... they are, indeed, the light within and beyond air and what keeps us living in and for the moment of elation whilst yet within the momentary circumstance we currently find ourselves in. What a glorious testimony to true hope and faith this is, Kartero; that not withstanding the knocks, bumps and bruises along the way, those "adventures of being that are MORE than the stuff of whim" are worth it and keep our eyes focussed on the brighter cause ahead. That's why the spirit can soar freely whilst yet experiencing heightened conflict. Your soul is shining! :)) Konfucius Kate xx
wow, lots of stirring happening in this - feels like the old self is decaying (hope it's just poetic ego reflection and nothing physical) and the phoenix is ready to shift from one conscious into the next - I can so relate!
Jude, as always you inspire me with your profound poetry. Your title caught my attention, but your words, they grabbed ahold of my heart and touched me deeply. As Kay says, we as poets feel so much and can relate so deeply to each other. You inspire me, and I have written a poem just because.
Time is our enemy, but really, time is all we have. What we do with it, is what makes our lives so much more richer and meaningful. As a person who has come out of the darkness, I value the time that I have left. So I say to you, read my poem and try to step up to the challenge that I have put out to the Universe.
I wish always good moments, much health and all the positive energy you can attract from the Universe.
Peace, light and love,
Amber
A deep and moving poem that tugged my heart into remembering past moments such as the ones you so vividly describe makes me realise
we poets have so much more in common than just a love of writing.
Distance between the harshness of is
and the reach for love, and separation of spirit
from blue mundane.
Not a poem to cheer, Jude, but to challenge
and i thank you for its truth.
For me, difficult times are an inconvenience that cause me to modify my path in reaching my goals. Whimsical dreams are the moments when my entire soul and being become one and relax in the waters of harmony, desire and belief. Physical difficulties are the hardest, I think, because they reign in the expanse of my daily reality. As I grow older, I have come to believe that we die, physically, for the same reason that a reptile sheds its skin...it is to find more room to stretch and grow. Ultimately this will allow our body to keep up with our spirit. Excellent offering, Jude, I can relate to this on so many levels. Happy Easter...I hope the bunny didn't leave little, brown, bunny pellets in your Easter basket.
Take care,
Sherry
I think there is a very fine line stretched at times to invisibility between our realities and our fantasies and when we do manage to slip over that line it is often our deepest journey into ourselves.
Facing the truth is a lesson we all must learn--unless blind sided by a train. The role of passion gets us up every day with the hope we will be reborn.
i am totally transfixed by this poem as it speaks volumes to me. i often rotate in and out of life, fall out of time only to dust myself off and rejoin the flow at some later point, wounded, hobbled, but still breathing. and as long as we're breathing, there's another shot at turning the page. in times of despair, it seems all one can do is try to simply get through the day, everything seems a hopeless burden like tying one's shoes, time draws out like a blade, and yet it all moves so fast. the days are long but the years are short. all we can do is keep coming back. sometimes i feel i'm only one thought away from blowing my brains out. and other times, i have perfect serenity and happiness. this is really powerful.
