In French, sexual climax is sometimes referred to as "le petit mort," (the little death). I see in this poem a paean to lovemaking and its aftertmath. Really good stuff, Jude.
Crazy beautiful, that The Black Crowes seem to have been subliminally inspiring us both at the same time... It's quite remarkable how even a passing glance from a face in the crowd can sometimes unlock a trapped element in the psyche - which is then the air bubble needed to bring us back to the surface of life. May those levitating visions abound! :)) xx

to be so inspired when so down, is a miracle. You make your joy, peace love and light. It is within each of us to master our lives. If we are down, depressed, unhealthy, it is because we have put ourselves there, through thinking that we are not happy, tired, sick whatever those negative thoughts are. You have everything at your fingertips, you just have to know what you want and tell the Universe what that is. You will receive. It is as simple as anything. It's all about attracting what you want in your life. We are all magnets, and we all attract what our mind and thoughts and feelings say and express. If we think in a negative vain, only negative and the things we Don't want will come to us. So think positive, know what you want and live like you already have it.
Sorry I went on like this, but your poetry always makes me think and express deeply how I feel. That's a good thing though! :)
This poem sort of gave me whiplash as I read the last line. I expected it to end in a state of hopeful expectation instead of a state of opposite transition. With that said, I enjoyed the offering and your excellent visuals, Jude.
