~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
               before she says anything
         emotions transmit
             from the cool
        surface of her shinny skin
               to the deteriorating
            echo of his heart
      it’s only a matter of time
         before their orbit loses velocity
               and their shell breaks up
            her dish bursts open
     steaming up the atmosphere
       his antenna melts into metallic bubbles
                         impregnating the sky
               before they both
        plunge into the sea
          and sizzle
As always Robert you are so original and a master at writing top class poetry. I truly wish I had written this awesome poem.I am 'sizzling' with envy.
Love to you and yours
good poem. I like how you have used satellite technology to a fast collapsing relationship.
… LOL, it’s Debby’s “fireball at re-entry” image that captures my interest in relation to this write, Kartero! :)) As from one heavenly body to another, I think Sir Paul McCartney would like this one... And, of course, Ziggy Stardust: "Wham, bam, thank you, Ma'am!": just thought of that one! And what a way to go, together at last in the most highly conductive of environments, the watery oceans, as opposed to their perpetual counter-tension force field of outer space: a sizzle, not a fizzle for certain sure. A fall-out of feathers has mysteriously been invading my space over the past few days, so am very relieved that, as yet, cyber-debris the size of a double-decker bus hasn’t landed on my head! A big-bang “deteriorating” echo here that seems to be vibrating away nicely to me. I like the way you do dying… like colourful, psychedelic, 70s T-shirts… or a falling angel… Komet Kate xx
I say their love was too hot. It burned out too soon from its own intensity, just like a satellite. Nice metaphor for burning love. Creative genius.
Cleverly layered, raw and sophistocated poem!
Awesome style, and the ending..."and sizzle"
Hey Jude,
This could be called combustible poetry...wow metaphorically you really have done an ace of a job!
I love the last two stanzas, quite sexually stimulating and graphically correct..It would be great to experience such an explosion!
Much peace, light, and love,
Amber
