This ole' world? Sad and dragging tho she is... I will never give up on America. I see the glass full, if with nothing else but the goodness of family, friends and the great "I Am" who promises His people, who love Him and call him Lord, that they be with Him in eternity. Am I gullible? Not if one believes in the word of God and His promises, who walk the narrow path in life, avoiding the pitfalls of the wide road that leads many people to confusion and wrong choices.Is our government crooked and leaning towards socialism? Yes. We hope and pray for better leadership in 2012, but we can work on our own minds, bodies and spirit and try to help and influence those that come iwithin our sphere. A better life starts with one person helping another... and then another, etc. Life continues and as people we can build a smaller, but better world for ourselves, our family, all people we come in contact with and the friends that we hold precious and dear. hahahaha - good one! Humanity is elaborately multi-faceted isn't it? Everyone has a colorful opinion. Much has been prophesied about 12/21/12 from many varied sources, all of which prospered magnificently for awhile (on this planet) and then vanished entirely except for their art and writings.... that says alot in itself. Were these harbingers to what modern society has in store? Time will tell Robert, of this we can be certain. I will tell you, though, my wife and I have no faith in the system at all. This month we cashed out every investment, took all of our money out of the stock market, and paid everything off. No debt now, no diminishing 401K's, and no system nanites clogging our thoughts and keeping us awake at night. Feels really good. Keep the antenna polished, next year should be a really entertaining experience ...

As for me, I'll confess right here I'm an optimist. I think we have to dig for the treasures. There are so many gifts, new and old, and I think it's a treasure trove, but we have to bring our love and compassion to the search. You're an awesome writer.

We are not ready to leave this planet, anyway, I as a light warrior, believe that this world does have to change. It is awareness that is needed and action. Your poem certainly drags up all types of emotions and fears, but for me, it is enlightening to read your poem and all it's ponderings. 2012, is going to be the best damn year yet!!!!!

I think 2012 is much like when the year 2000 rolled in. They were saying the clocks would freeze up that the computers would all have a meltdown. Huge corporations hired "specialty" people to go inside their computers to correlate them and fix it so it would be safe at the stroke of midnight on 2012. Well, of course nothing happened. Nothing dramatic will happen next year either except people will still be very cruel to outher people and children. Disasters will still happen like tornadoes and earthquakes, only now the doomsays will have the prophecy with which to blame shouting it from rooftops and nimble fingers on their computer of choice.

With the abysmal way our world is heading now, I constantly go back and forth about whether it would be a good thing or not for our planet to just 'stop being' in 2012. An instant 'Poof and We're All Cosmic Dust' would surely end all the suffering on this planet today.

Stop the world, I want to get off. Really? Why waste time worrying, if there is a prophecy, worry won't change anything and if there is physical disaster, haven't we already learned that we can't conquer Mother Nature? 2012 is perhaps just the birthing of more fear of the year 2013. I would rather just enjoy each day as it mysteriously unfolds and address whatever issues that occur as they occur. I like this poem, Jude.

LOL... this says it all - anything and everything is possible, and I imagine there may be enough experiences for every perception, but then isn't that what everyday is like?

I'm sure certain groups will give away their cars and dig up their time capsules and others will instill mass hysteria and mayan trinkets manufactured by greedy trolls will pop up at vendor stands. Me? I'll buy the 2012 Hooters wet t-shirt with the nipples still imprinted! I thought I might buy you a new chromium guitar string that pulses with a blue light and sounds like the ocean...get ready, Jude!
