~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you are an afterthought billowing forward,
     an objet d'art sculptured daily
  a preface to a book without an ending,
     a perspective lacking neither opinion nor belief
  you are a stone transforming into a gem,
     a wire conducting its own symphony of electricity
   a voice orating to née an audience,
      a vision seen without being noticed
   you designed a stadium without a field,
      in a poem written with invisible words
  your were the one who abbreviated infinity,
       and for that, I thank you, good night
So many worthy words in a P.S.; your amazing poetry always stuns my senses. I think I have read your best offering, but you surprise me again and again, cranking them out like a poetic master. Don't stop!
there's always that last word. the punctuation to the point, when its already been said. An exhausting circle of nothingness......if your arguing. Like an argument with the past and not the actual argument. Clearly not what you were writing about but a thought provoking piece indeed. P.S.......this was great!
Hey Jude,
I love the way you inverted the meaning of words here in your poem. It has so much more impact to the reader. I especially relate to these lines:
you are a stone transforming into a gem,
a wire conducting its own symphony of electricity
a voice orating to née an audience,
a vision seen without being noticed
The conducting a symphony of electricity, now that's a visual...lol
A vision seen without being noticed, yes that is a physic connection of the highest kind, I just love how you mess with our minds. But my little pretty, I am on to you....I am wishing you a very "special" Valentine's Day! Send Kisses to your sweetie and blow her mind.
Much peace, light, and love.
Amber
... LOL Sherry's comment: and so it does! :)) On the other hand, it COULD be an ode to "good night" although not my first thought and perhaps stretching syntax and meaning a bit. OR it could be an inverse way of saying "You're great!" almost as an afterthought to a taxing bit of pillow talk. Whatever... fabulous and original use of the word "nee", for example, which makes this a brain-engaging read. And I'll finish by abbreviating time and space with wishing you Happy Valentine's, Senor; have a very good night! :)) xx
Very good imagery, jude. I like the first line especially, and the second to last.
A page full of "not quites" very interesting, Jude, it nearly sounds as though you are upset with someone.
Take care,
Tributes abound within these lines, unique as only Jude can bring them to us. Yeah, the last three is the kicker.
