~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
       the environ of my captivity
    limits the ability
                  of captors holding me down
        the conditions of my surroundings
is a little less than outstanding
    still I elude the subconscious noise
              so I lie in vapors, sweaty labors
          inside a shapeless hull
     there’s a splinter of sunlight
           breaking through night
          dreams escape my skull
the atmosphere here seems similar to how I felt when writing "weather" - your "splinter" is the upwardly-mobile version of my "greasy pole" - the former being a means of escape; the latter the descent into karmic, whiteout oblivion! Glad you have light at the end of your tunnel, Amigo; keep burrowing! :)) xx
That small bit of light is a constant reminder that we always have the power to choose the darkness or the light in all situations. The confining restraints are of our own doings and if we do not learn to use our dreams to break out of the bindings we will forever be a slave to our own feelings of inadequacy and/or preconceived weaknesses. Juicy tidbits here, for the reader to relate to, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
I've been following your dream juice series and I've got to say, this one hits so close to our home. The first stanza has a personal starseed quality for me. I've studied "walk-ins"- starseeds that come into your body at times of a tragedy, a near death, a transition, etc. kind of a host soul. I have had this strange thing happen to me a couple of times when I was asleep many years ago. It wasn't a dream. There was like something holding me down and I couldn't wake up to sit up, it was like I was being held hostage in the night by some force. It was suffocating. I could hear noise but I was really not coherent or mobile. I studied the walk-ins and it made sense as does your poem "seepage." This poem makes me think there's a connection to what I was feeling when perhaps a host soul visited. Keep writing, Jude. These of yours lately have been deep.
Is this a dream or reality...I couldn't resist...
At any rate, I feel a sense of hope and rebirth in this poem. At times things could look bleek, but as long as the positive energy of the guiding light is shining through all adversity, then there will be peace and tranquility eventually. Fundamentally sound poetry, darkness will never rule your world, Jude, you are a golden child, a beaming light that transcends all other energies...keep on writing, you are getting so damn good.
Peace, light and love,
Amber
it is a fitting psychological environ we dwell in -- constructed meticulously with our own perceptions, dreams and biases -- slowly but surely reality and understanding find their ways into our little private world -- this is a piece to savor for its honesty and evaluation jude -- create another for us my dear friend -- I wish you love and peace -- Jon Michael
it's all to easy for good thoughts to be replaced by bad thoughts. Nightmares into the living days. But, every once in awhile, something good just seems to run around the corner.
Prisoners of our own delutions we are, they come in different coloured shades, reminds me of Goethe, sitz ich immor noch,,, ah well, hopefully someday we'll see the truth, that's, if we can understand it, bless ya!
These captors are with it, it seems, more forcefully and more determined than ever. We are pretty much a captive of our own making as we strive to make our existence so unworthiness as to be quite incapable of performing the simplest chores, such as reading a map when the GPS goes on the blink and there no one telling us where the next turn in the road is.
