Indeedledoo, Kartero; the winds of time and tide most certainly buffet us around, distant or not, hence it's imperitive to remain focussed and not be swayed by mere appearance and sensations of "aloneness" which are out of keeping with what we otherwise know to be true. Am greatly intrigued by your almost Haversham-esque jaded and jilted god who seems to hang everything on tangible signs, given or withheld - lost, even. Deities who are truly omniscient are aware that 9/10ths of life is most probably what goes unseen and ALL of life is, to my mind, spiritually governed. Affection, if genuine, is very rarely lost and grows deeper roots the more it goes to ground. Still, this raises questions about the notion of an unrequited bridegroom god whose father heart is eternally frustrated by his lack of Mrs God; pause for thought indeed! :) You're always a trip, Amigo, and one worth the taking. xx
jude, although I do not subscribed to the postulate you forward, I absolutely enjoyed your delivery there of - creative and imaginative me dear friend - I wish you love and peace - Jon Michael
You are brilliant beyond my ability to understand, dear Jude, but I do understand enough to know you write imaginative and richly perceptive poetry!
Be well,

Hey Jude,
This is a message to all people that can read between the lines.
When relationships endure the test of time, perhaps that endurance really isn't about love after all.
Pondering more on this poem, but those are my immediate thoughts as I read this poem for the second time today. The first time, I was half asleep and now much more clear.
Human acts and expectations have litte to do with the gods and more often to do with a lack of understanding of the intent of the dieties. Since we, as a race of people, tend to have a need to trust or blame someone/something greater than ourselves for our successes or failures, we long ago created gods for every emotion and need in our lives, we even went so far as to blame the stars and the heavens for our failures or inadequacies. When we felt that the gods failed us we created Kings and when we felt that Kings failed us we decided to trust science. When science failed us we decided to rest our fate in our leaders; all have led us astray, for it is ourselves we must trust to lead us through life. Our fear of inadequacy is constantly leading us to place our trust and our fate in the hands of some other that we feel is greater than we are. I see your offering as the tug-of-war of this very human situation, trust myself or cast my fate upon the gods. Reading the other reviews, it certainly would appear that I am misunderstanding your intent but since poetry is so subjective, I wanted to give you my take on your thoughts and words. Powerful stuff, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
One must always keep things within perspective
otherwise they could become trampled and cast
out as these two obviously were with ideas of
their own, one being fooled.
Ingenious should be used towards people and
not for the higher power, spirit, or God to most
for He/She/It/Universe has reasons for our own
path we follow.
Very good jude, as always you have a pearl
or two of wisdom and enlightenment on others.
I like how the guise of ego plays out here
to often people render knowing another
like the back of their hand...and the ring
a beautiful symbol or a promise broken

Something is definitely amiss with this pair of misunderstood misses who are herein so mysteriously mystified... and as naturally as a mist on a mirror wherein one's distorted reflection is rendered clearer... as clear as a misaligned vow, though at least twice as efficacious as a disingenuous god... (sadly too many of us roll with the punch lines of the joke... the joke being that so-called lost affection is the work of a disingenuous god with an affectation for ingenuity... such is the lot of the misconceived and misaligned... intriguingly rifted into a rather deep shaft, jude...
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
