~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
let me hide my eyes behind
                         your dark shades of seclusion
    they look so cool when on you
   you know,
 it really doesn’t matter what direction I look to
 as long as I’m looking at you
                      even if you don’t see me
    I secretly lounge around the corners of your eyes
                       at least there’s someplace
we both encompass a sense of presence
              why pretend we can see through each other’s soul?
                 you know they’re inseparable
anyway, you’re always the happiest when we part in your dreams
                    and return together to die in mine
I suppose this answers the question ...are you really there? :-) A lady might ask when a dream continues and continues. :-)
the line is indistinct jude, imagination and perception confrontational adversaries of reality and objectivity - to acquiesce is tactical submission in subliminal attire - the game is affection the vaunted prize is acquiescence, depending solely upon individual perception - roles we define through personal values and judgement - how lovely is this game? -- it is good to see your work gracing the den again- I wish you love and peace my friend - Jon Michael
ah, yes... the perennial die roll in the ... hey, how have you been? Nice to see you again, bringing home the sizzle... no place like a-stroll-projected for all to see how easy you make it seam like a walk in the park yourself here beside me on this benchmark time will stand still crazy after all these years... reel them in... are you reeling in the years? Or is that just an alluring line?
It seems an ever circling thing, shared dreams. A death and a rebirth between an eternal tie. Wonderfully penned, Jude.
I'm glad to see you back on the den, Jude. I have missed the way your words make the reader think and ponder your meaning; the depth of your words. This time there is a soul searching look into your heart and that of one you love. Excellent offering.
Had me worried there for a moment when you didn't post. You've touched on a unique subject, sharing dreams. I have to assume you are talking about the dream in the last line, otherwise it becomes much more serious.
... Ahh, the stuff of life and death that true love and devotion transcends in all of time and space; in the wake of my beloved Willow's sad demise, I have been profoundly moved by the nearness of mortality and was (strangely!) reciting O Kindred Spirit to myself in bed last night (written at another dark time in my life in October 05). I had just returned here to see if I had remembered it right, in fact. I'll wager that your natural parting is as wonky as my grief-scissored fringe right now, Kartero! :) Anyway, a little levity is at last lightening my soul and a sense of seclusion no longer blanketing my heart. As I said before, "aloneness" is not something that is actual if one's soul naturally connects with the stuff of life around it and those bonds of tacit mutual and unspoken understanding of which you speak can be very real - real enough to pull away the blind(er)s from our eyes - same as with a child who thinks he's invisible when hiding his face behind his hands. I'll ramble off now, instead of rambling on, but funny about the O Kindred Spirit-thing. So glad to hear you're "hanging on", too, Amigo! Siempre Kindred Kate xx
Excellent poem but my favorite line in this piece is:
"anyway, you’re always the happiest
when we part in your dreams
and return together to die in mine"
This has a bit of an elusive feel to it. Even though your souls are joined, you only have a meeting place within your own dreams and blended in the occasional shared dream. I do know this place and a soul that mirrors the one of which you write. It is both a blessing and a frustration. Nice work, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
Well, well, Jude is back. This poem deserves to be recited to hear the sincerity and passion that hides within each line.
I have missed you dearly, and now I will sigh as I drift off to dreamland and hope to capture some glimpse of what you mean in this most, long awaited poem!
Sighing....
Peace, light, and love,
poignant tie-up of thought and feeling, Jude,
challenging to realise who is who or are we what
we may think we are and where we stand in relation
to ourselves and others...and how much do we actually give in?
it's good to see you back, you've been too long away
stay well
In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
