shadows perplex me

more than I do myself

I have an idea; it’s not too far away

perhaps right next to me

not far off or far out

or overtly esoteric, I mean

it just doesn’t present

any material to recite

or supply paper to write upon

it’s just there playing within my head

so I leave it alone

hopefully, it won’t annoy me anymore

something I often regret doing

is to neglect to resemble

what I am grappling with

I dodge the creative pleasantries

and loopholes of forked roads,

presented as too complex to fondle

but a pleasure to skip about

I’m directing misdirected traffic

while bordering on a sign

no one will hear or see

an invisible curve continues to blind me

with its spectacular form

it stages thoroughfares

through the misty scenery of life and death

so the play can be performed colorfully

so much mystery is forgotten

when the thrill of death departs

so many secrets are remembered

when you come a second

or even third time

dusty selves cover my blueprint,

as well as the steps to heaven

where life is impregnated

to entomb itself

so it can decay

and reconvene into something different

I blow earth off trees limbs

as I run across murky woods

toward a clearing in the leaves

I wonder about the oasis

and the return of the absent immortal

I live in a world where the chosen

give pleasure to strangers

in the most skillful ways

even if it’s a just a quick peek orgasmic release

I heat up in the maze of anxious thoughts

within the milky haze of wayward dreams

as long as I function, i grow,

ageless from discovery

I guess that spectacular curve must be REALLY blinding this evening as it bowls through with its current drama unfolding across your ESB stage, bringing with it all the mystery you could wish for and that the thrill of death imparts. Your dust must be really quite stirred as it's dislodged from all your former blueprint selves and gathers around an uncertain immediate future, adjusting those clearings and oases as immortal thoughts abound. So many wonderful images in this piece which, by association, speak many more volumes than the surface of your text presents. No time for creative pleasantries, perhaps, but this write is rich with the push-and-pull of stirred and anxious enquiries and gleanings from the mind's laboratory of exploration and experiential growth. Fabulous voicing and cadence here: recital, please! :) Voici Cate xx

Sometimes ones mind is not in a creative mood , so it's best to put aside what you are trying to do until the mood and words are there....M

Jude,
Just when you think someone has disappeared, Voila, there they are.
You are this poem. Always intriguing and elusive, but deeply moving like the kinetic winds of change. I find this poem both refreshing and informative. Thank you for sending some Jude energy, I needed it!!

Much peace, light and love,
Amber

Engaging and truly creative!

(Oh I can't be the reviewer after Jon Michael! He's such an amazing reviewer and tells you exactly what I would say if I had his gift of explaining things.)

jude, we are captives of our own imaginations and as such become elated when we discover. as the sensate information gathers we become intrigued, we fondle it emotionally, then we develop it.
functionality is the essential ingredient that permits us to achieve the emotions and develop the discovery. A great analogy my dear friend. I wish you love and peace. Jon Michael

So that's why you weren't posting. You were composing an epic poem, one discovery at a time. As usual, I couldn't fathom what you are writing about, but I was so glad to see the title. So many use the words, Ah Ha, or Wa La because they don't know the magic word that says, “Eureka.”

As usual, enjoyed your deep thoughts, dreams, or whatever…

Damn, Jude, and they call me long-winded at times. Doesn't matter, you see, the real culprit is . . . shadows. My post this afternoon is about a shadowy person. Sometimes shadows can be good -- as are all things -- sometimes, not so good. Enjoyed your shadowy poem.
