~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
when it gets to the point,
that all you need to keep on going
is to breathe
when tattered tattoos of beauty
and salacious scripts of horror
slow down their pace and stop dividing
into future forms
and only moldy memories
dangle in the air,
on vines of exhalation
waiting for nature’s wind tunnel
to expunge each lung
dying with the melodious scent of existence
either by the shrill of its shudder
or the comfort of its caress
I’ll be in a sounder universe
releasing my fading voice
with its roaring utterance of perspective, a last hurrah
a song heard when dreams move in
to dance around graves of poets
when it gets to that point,
it’s time to begin writing again
To follow is divine even if our footsteps only manage to be your echo. Have we all been there before or is it just wishful thinking? M.True
Living through poetry is living a poetic life that adds a totally new and different perspective to all that we go through. When at the threshold of something new we suffer, hesitate, look back or stumble and fall, there is always a new poem waiting for us. This what I feel and think when I read your words.
...That you will, Amigo: a whole uni-verse/voice of sound where all your echoes are returned to you. Keep breathing your poems lifelike and natural, Kartero; poetry for the ear/air as it's wholly intended to be. Be richly blessed this Christmastime and always. xx
... Well? What are you waiting for?! Next poem, please! :))
I love this poem. The yellow highlighter for me goes over "slow down their pace and stop diving/into future forms," all of #3, and 4, "...shrill of its shudder," "roaring utterance of perspective.." with a smile at the end for me. Thank you ~~ Diana
For within you is the gift of writing
and so eloquently spoken with the breath
of life or before the breath of bodily
death for the soul is immortal... keep
writing and never cease as you write
deep thinking prose and poems that keep
all to think for themselves as you keep
us alive in thoughts...
Writing must ebb and flow. There are natural cycles for all creative endeavor in my experiences. And not everything (IMO) should be shared. The motivation to share must remain pure. Seeking accreditation or popularity is more in line with television preachers and nightclub performers. For me there must be inspiration, and a message, that will please, provoke, or enlighten the reader. Stay true to your calling. You do it well.
Writing is both our breath and that which takes our breath away. When the spin that surrounds us is murky and consuming, the inspiration to place words upon the page can come from a dank place where we do not wish to dwell. But like a strong, choking cough that allows a breath of sweet air to enter our being, so does an enlightening moment or thought bring life back into our pen. I hope that as you straddle this delecate balance, you find yourself tipping into enlightenment and taking your pen to new heights.
Take care,
Sherry
A poet who writes not is damned by his own non-hand, Jude. I know not of the unknown graveyard of poets, but I do know we can persist as a living, breathing nonentity and build our own (((known))) graveyard of poets (of one) by merely sitting and thinking of writing, but nary one word have we writ.
So remindful of the Dead Poet's Society. Out of the Den classroom to focus on the idea of carpe diem. If a choice few of us here could meet in a cave outside of the Den classroom, we would unanimously agree the need for voluntary, temporary expulsion of poetry in so that we may re-enter the poet society with a new 'alive' vision of looking at the world. Here's to analyzing more of your poetry on into the year 2013, something I wouldn't miss for the world. You truly are a 'Mood in Motion.' I value the quality of friendship you and I have maintained over the years. Have a wonderful 2012 finale, my friend!
Hey Jude,
I woke from a sound sleep. Something told-me to check my email. There you were posting this incredible poem. Yes yes yes write again I have missed your golden pen!
Whatever moves you write it. This poem is so deeply moving on so many levels for me.
Long after all of us are gone, our poems will live on. You must write, you are one of the best poets of our time!
Much peace light and love
Amber
