~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a slip of thought
separating perception from sight
a fleeting moment of in-sanity
when reality and reason
preclude their momentum
and merge with the gods
as a burst of lucid mystery
cleansing eyes of purpose
stripping off the ornaments of personal deceit
a crescendo of thoughts
immersed in god’s love and absolution
an overwhelming urge to remain alive
just to confront the philosophy of the dead
that opportunity to caress the horizon
like a shadow dancing across the sun
a momentary silhouette of clarity
tuned to synapses dancing wildly
summoned by the attention of immaculate perspective
grasping
at that chance
to glimpse the origin
known once again
as becoming a savior
Definite 20/20 acuity here Jude,and excellent imagery too. These lines stunned me with their clarity: 'Cleansing eyes of purpose- stripping off the ornaments of deceit.'
Continued success
Defiant "an overwhelming urge to remain alive
just to confront the philosophy of the dead" and provocative, pointing at those in-betweens, those "fleeting" moments that are so rich and enjoyable (at least they are to me). Sometimes we can almost touch the divinity trapped within us.
As usual, there is much to garner from your verses and, as usual, this is worthy of much more than a single read. Thank you, Jude. Love and peace to you,
...this clear-eyed perspective of clarity seen through the prism of myriad momentous self-discoveries that immerse themselves in the ether that is the other... beyond self and substance and material to become immaterial, insubstantial, selfless... this is an elusive but attainable mantra that achieves ethereal momentum within the specificities of your wondrous poem... provocative, pensive and implosively explosive, jude...
Ah yes would we ever get to know the origin but alas no unless we return to the Greek gods of old and take your pick of gods of their day
... OK, you got me; I couldn't leave for Tarifa without being caught in the moment to respond to this as it seems as though inspired by that warming, mystery-laden El Levante breeze itself. :) Love the momentary suspension of perception to be replaced by that in-touch, lightning strike, Michelangelo finger-touch of God, that summoning by the ultimate "immaculate perspective" that makes dancing, upwardly-soaring saviours of us all, gossamer-resurrected and invincible. One of your best, Kartero, and a joy to vacation with. Katchthebreeze Kate xx
Eh, questioning our existence or worth on the planet has befuddled mightier brains that mine.
"an overwhelming urge to remain alive
just to confront the philosophy of the dead"
That seems to be most thinking people philosophy, but it is a no-win situation, and in the end we leave what we leave as we pass through that dark curtain still asking questions we will never have answered.
To grasp our true destiny is a seemingly elusive dream. To see it unfold is a thing of wonder but the question remains. Are we the masters of our destiny or is our destiny the master blueprint of our lives? Did we leave our mark, does the fact that we have lived, change, anything? Energy can not be stopped so perhaps it serves us best to see this as a single chapter in our book of lifetimes. This is an excellent pen, Jude. I really enjoyed the read.
Take care,
Sherry
