~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
walking quick-wittedly
across a mossy waterfall
I balance you, you equalize me
we are trying our best
not to make a sudden slip
to bounce off
with utterly no control
into that inescapable force of god’s momentum
a cascade of fortunes we now join
where rainbows reveal the mist
and light takes on various shades
we are swirling and tumbling
into the furious gorge
bound by nature’s prowess
we survive the fall
making it to the other side
by not slipping off
What an adventure! It brings back memories of the Seven Sacred Pools in Maui. Sometimes it's safer to take that plunge together ... swimming to the other side rather than working your way back down the mossy rocks/path. Wonderfully written, Jude ...
Oooo... love on the rocks: look out below! :) Quick wits and sure feet plus the hookah-smoking-caterpillar penetration of that rainbow mist as the pair tumble and swirl through the symbiotic looking-glass Fall will guarantee them landing... somewhere! A nice bit of synchrony and satisfying symmetry with 'provision'. xx
Hey Jude,
You changed the title! Always interesting reading your work. I find this piece to be very revealing and proactive.
Sometimes we get to a point in our lives that seems like we are not moving forward fast enough, or time is moving too fast and we are not where we thought we would be. Remember a while ago, you wrote a poem and you said *uck it, I'm going in for a swim, well swim my friend, swim toward your misty design and go for the gold!!!!!
She'll be waiting on the other side, be sure of that!
Much peace, light and love,
Amber
We all live on the slippery slope, one you have so well defined. Hand-in-hand, will we make it?
But the fall is always there, lurking, waiting, grinning.
Waterfalls, no matter how pretty they look, are full of dangers. Odd how easily people tend to forget this. Until gravity proves them wrong. As gravity tends to do in the end.
Great write and as always enjoyed visiting.
Everything is easier to face with someone by our side. Love the imagery in this piece.
Take the leap of faith or remain in the safety zone of joined souls. It is a dichotomy yet it is a unity. Profound offering, Jude.
Yin and Yang . . . Out of the Box . . . Throw Caution to the Wind . . . bungee jumping poetics snapping safely a few feet back up at the end of the cord deep plunge in a tethered fall of alternative realities...metaphor for the poet who walks on water...now turn the water into wine for an encore...I just read your tarot Judeace.
