~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
suppose the twilight
wraps its cold arms
around your torso
to cool your fiery embrace
and steal your heart
like the shadowy bandit it is
and then eludes detection by seizing the frozen light
in the rigid vision you have adapted to
suppose you drown in that dream
through the hole in broken ice
just to be resuscitated
by an unseen presence blinking above
... Has happened to me on more than one occasion recently! :) Not that I could have written about it and expressed it so clearly, but thanks for doing it for me. What this really reminds me of is going under anaesthetic just before surgery. The medics always think me weird(!!) 'cos I actually enjoy the experience... and THEN they ask why I wake up smiling. Honest truth is because the faces of those standing over me are ALWAYS the faces of those I love at first - at least until they speak and my focus clears a bit. Thanks for this pleasant reminder. xx
Vision of stealing your heart yet the unseen blinking
is a movie projector ending its reel.
Hey Jude,
I love Sage's comment. She is so dead on!
One can look at this poem with many eyes. I see someone wanting to be rescued by Golden Gondola aqua lips
That would be more enjoyable than an unseen presence blinking above! Lol
Anyway this poem leaves me with an icy feeling with the warmth of hope brushed in.
Awesome poetry in motion my dear man.
Peace light and love
A somewhat cryptic poem full of mysterious imagery.
Looking forward to your next poem.
Mother Pucking words across the page! Polar hockey! That is the GOAL! Blinking behind a hockey mask is poetry, another mood in motion resuscitated by hard Gatorade Jim Beam jersey number 80 Proof! Intoxicating poetry on ice, Jude...
To have your soul frozen into an unfeeling and uncaring state without the ability to change your situation, would be an existence that lacked all perspective and all forms of happiness. It must be cold where you are living, Jude, I hope the thaw comes soon.
Take care,
Sherry
I certainly wouldn't want to suppose that! But you can go ahead and suppose it for yourself
if you like. I don't like.
A very interesting piece as I stare out my window into Forty Below once more.
