special balloons

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a large bunch of purple balloons
loosened by an unsure hand
scatters in the wind
like a cluster of seeds
freed by the will of a breeze
they are all set into motion
indiscriminately
thumping around bushes and trees
shooting around and below me
watching them fade
and disappear into the distant horizon
a fun sight
since I live way up
with a great view
I left my room for a few moments
and when I return to look out the window again
the strangest thing had occurred
all the balloons were there
formed back into decorative cluster
of pulsating balls
gently hovering above the ground below
looking like a giant plastic dandelion
once again they released from the ground
upward and upward
passing by my window
clumped together
reaching toward a break in the clouds
Maybe you traveled back in time to when my daughter was 10 years old...we released a cluster of lavender colores balloons on our street in Texas after she made a wish. That was 13 years ago...wow it took 13 years to make it to the NY...amazing!!!
Possibly symbolic and thus meaningfully interpreted by the reader who may choose; thank you for sharing this bright experience, Jude. Love and peace,
This is a curious poem with several levels of meaning. Though I will refrain from digging too deep if in fact it's just a playful poem after all.
You either had a déjà vu all over again memory lapse, or somebody down there was creating a handful of balloons, only to release them into the blue, one after another. I prefer the former, don't you?
PS. You had me going there for a while thinking that you were on cloud nine looking down. "Hey you! Get off a my cloud!" I could sing it all day.
Hey Jude,
I love your purple extravaganza! Purple is my favorite color! I could visualize your delightful experience through your words.
Lovely to have experienced this with you!
Sometimes our minds play tricks on us; but I do have my share of some very strange occurrences, so I believe what you are saying.
