~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
when all the elements
of this fallen paradise
fall on your head
or hit you hard in the groin
and cloven footed horrid monsters
come crawling from the doom
like a mad montage
like a nightmare run wild
well, this is the asylum baby
this is the land
where you're patient and analyst,
actor and audience
it’s up to you to perform well on stage
it’s up to you to transcend
the eternal settings
it’s up to you to break through
dreams’ revolving doors
one of your best, I'd say. I love the line 'and cloven fotted hoven monsters'. I think I've battled them once or twice myself.
You last two lines say it all. Only we can break through those doors.
Ah, an old friend in life's asylum. Got it all going on in the family camp atdemo. And fits in with my May podcast, too. A comforting, companionable write to have whilst breaking out of the Cuckoo's next. xx
We all have dreams. Sometimes they come true. Sometimes they don't. Effort and luck and planning make things happen. Dream big. Dream small. But dream.
So true. Life is like an arena. Some act better than others. Very well penned.
I remember this one and you recited it too ... great to read it again ... wonderful as always ...
It's up to us - how so very true. And quite a needed message today since these days everyone loves to blame someone else for their problems.
Deja vu, I know this one, nice to see it again... it's a great refresher, as lately I've had to remind myself of this very thing "transcend and break through"
Being a bit more analytical, those damn "revolving door" dreams can be a bitch. Some nights, kick as I can, I still can't make a dent in the Plexiglas toughness of some of those turnarounds.
Hey Jude,
Yes it is up to all of us to be responsible for our own mental well being. Living in the moment is the key to being mentally healthy!
My poem "Completion" is a response to this poem!
Stop the revolving door cycle and walk through that window of your dreams and live in the moment!
Much peace, light and love,
Amber
...and just when you've managed to break through, here comes another
set of revolving doors! And so it goes.
Deep! How are we all actors in a way. And indeed also spectators. Well done! Grtz, D.T.
Well...It's a mad, mad, world! And we all need to learn from inside that revolving door. Learned are those who would go in one way, and come out becoming smarter.
