little folk lodge in unusual places

inside the junctions of dreams
where no one speaks in familiar voices

living within the ivy of fabricated philosophies
or in misread definitions of time and space

some habitually dwell
in the narcissism of planetary misconceptions

waking up each morning
washing eyes before steamy mirrors

seated on a transcendental toilets
watching particles of selves swirl down porcelain drains

as the cubbyhole security of existence purges onward
expanding in lungs, inhabiting bellies around breakfast tables

hiding in the jelly and butter, in happiness or screams

...journey to a long abandoned curiosity...whimsical
playground of a "little folk"...where wonder piles
upon wonder...pure imagination...definitely worth
a look...enjoyable escape...

Gremlins and other such Mischiefs gumming up the works and crossing all the wires in and out of the ether, whispering in mortal ears on the borders between sleep-wakefulness or disappearing from the windows of eyes once fully conscious. Such a visual write, Jude, and also makes me think of the dichotomies often between our public and private lives - like the Nick Cage 'Family Man' film. You've used toilet imagery quite a bit this year... must be where you do all your heavy-duty thinkin! Adore Sage's take on it all, too. :) xx

And here I thought this was gonna be a poem about Leprechauns!

Really makes the reader think, Jude. As I read, I realize that I am probably one of the "little people" ... ...as most of us are. Love and peace,

my mind jumped around with little thoughts and popping images in this creative expression of little folk and somewhere in the background I hear a fiddle

A stream of consciousness interlaced with pieces of reality
makes for a poignant mosaic of childhood as only a gifted poet
can piece it together. Superb!

So is life, everything you mention in this well expressed poem!
Always so uniquely divine!

Lilliputian potion drunk from a thrift store silver thimble where discounted books with torn off covers are sold in goodwill bric-a-brac bins with keychain bibles, gewgaws, gimcracks, toilet parts and plungers, "little folk."

To me, these "little folk" are stuck inside of us; those seeds of indoctrination that were planted in us by our parents, teachers and other adults as our personal perceptions of life were still forming. I often find myself doing something, or more often not doing something, because of that little folk who is still in there influencing my thoughts and actions. I loved reading this, Jude. It brought another layer of clarity to understanding myself, even if my take on it had nothing to do with yours, as you were writing it.

I'm amazed. That being said,

Love ya!

You know as well there ARE Gods with silver hair that live in time and space through eons. Even God who has created this world and galaxy has lived through eons and wander in time and space to help those who are in need of help. It is not fabricated.

They may be a little folks to you, but they have big hearts that love others.

Thanks Jude!

Sandie
