Reminds me of the smuggler who was washed up with me recently on Chesil Bank, Kartero: Here be dragons, Jack. Going back to Robin Williams (psycho-babble), here was the man who tried to make everyone well while he himself never wanted to grow up, grow old, grow ill... Hook was always my favourite film of his. He made me think of Oscar Wilde's: "Give a man a mask and he will always tell you the truth" (paraphrase). And was ultimately a strong man. xx

So sad to hear that he took his own life. Unstable but so wildly funny to the world.

This person is a legend in their own mind, but an oaf in the eyes of the rest of the world. The reality check will be brutal and their paper doll world will crumble, leaving them a skeleton picked clean by the buzzards who forgot how to dream.

and to be less metaphorical...marinas everywhere are filled with boats and 'captains' that never leave the dock...simply there living on the edge of their dream, because of lackluster unflexed muscles.
Sadness overwhelmed me when I read this. Then again, you make a great point. We must make our actions, dreams, and vows full of promise and come to fruition.
