newborn beauty

a wondrous spirit of form

alive in new surroundings

allowing dreams to arise

steering into a fresh beginning

surrounded by love and light

absorbing warmth

as it merges into her sight

with a gurgle and a woo

she stares into the eyes of her regime

Congratulations, Jude. I am not a grandparent yet but I have heard rumors that such may change soon. Love and peace to you,

alive in new surroundings

... It must be so strange to go from being a water-baby to being an earth-and-air being with gravity and freedom of movement. You capture many truisms in your gentle homage. All versions have been beautiful in their own way but I like the change of title in this one: goes with the 'otherness' of her being. I was thinking last week of the poem I wrote for my goddaughter when she was pregnant several years ago; thought I had posted at the time but it's not in my backlist. Perhaps I'll post it anyway. Thanks for the warm fuzzies :) xx

...happiness is born; may the newborn baby girl
renew your strength...refresh your life and hope
and the little footprints fill a place in your heart
...you never knew was empty.
Thank you Jude, for sharing your poem that helps
to believe in love at first sight..
Congratulations!

Hey Jude,
Oh you have been smitten! She must be so gorgeous!
It's so cool to be a grandparent, I just love it.
Embrace and absorb her energy, she will make you so healthy and full of wonderous joy!
Sending you lots of Peace, light and love,
Amber
